Hi! I have read a couple of threads that say how horrible the FL water tastes...has anyone has problems with their infants not taking a bottle b/c of the funny taste? Just wondering if we should get a case of water...TIA!!!!!

I didn't notice that much of a difference, DD didn't seem to mind. Although our water at home tastes like you're drinking from a swimming pool. (Seriously, you smell like chlorine after you shower.)

I think the heat was a factor for us...my 10 month old refused her bottles even with bottled water. I remember talking to another mom at Epcot who was having the same issue. Fortunately, at 10 months she was eating lots of fruit and table food but it was really weird to have her not drinking her formula. An ounce here and there was all she seemed to take.

What time of year was this trip??

i used bottled , i was afraid to risk her not liking it, or turning her tummy, so i just used bottled.....believe it or not with my son (firstborn) i actually washed his bottles with bottled water so that yucky florida water would not touch his bottles...crazy i know but hey he was my 1st.

wow...I didn't even think ahead to this issue!
I will be breastfeeding the majority of the time my youngest, but she will have 1-2 bottles a day... and my 2nd youngest will be just 15 months, so I guess I'll be buying bottled water for sure... not risking the issue... LOL

We were there in early October...the heat and humidity were more than we expected (ha ha I AM from Canada you know!).

In the baby care centers (1 in each park) they have a water bubbler for bottles. They have cold or hot water options. I couldn't live without the baby care centers!!!

I never had any trouble with my dd having orlando tap water in her formula.
She was 7-8 months old at the time.

Maybe a silly question... but what's a water bubbler? I was planning on using bottled water, but now I'm curious! Thanks! :)

:rotfl: You are not from around here!! I thought only RIers had water bubblers!! They are what you would also call a water fountain.!!!

When we went in 2006 I used bottled water to mix the formula and my son was fine (actually he probably would have been fine with anything he never refused his bottle)

I lived in Florida for 15 years (as a picky kid to adulthood). The water is great, especially compared to other states I've lived in. The problem is that the water gets really warm in the summer, even if it comes straight from a water fountain. The motor just can't keep up with hours of 95 degree weather day after day. Orlando gets its water from the aquifer which actually supplies the Zephyr Hills bottling company. Best suggestion - use ice packs!

:rotfl: Never heard that before, thanks! I'm from Canada, so that probably explains it. :rotfl:
