Problems with Alamo Website

aubriee - did u print out the original reservation? I'm glad I printed out last one after reading ur post. Usually, since I rebook so often:guilty:I rarely bother.

Must be an Ipad thing. I play the rate game for months. I've rented from Alamo for years and have used the website to book this past May with no problems. Now the remove is not there when I go to get rates.

Tink, possibly an I phone thing.
What I did was this.
Went to the log in page for Insiders. Logged in
Went to reservation page. Booked a reservation with code and coupon.
Went to the area where all the cars and rates show up. (clicked next to get there)
Hit edit on under the dates
That took me back to the screen with dates and codes.
Under the coupon code and rate code there was "remove".
Clicked on remove and bam, the code was gone. Was able to enter a different code.
Sort of a long process, but a workable work around.

I hope she did print it out. I print them out everytime I rent or make changes, you simply never know.

Same here! I got a quote back in early July using the Costco and Visa codes, but have not been able to use any codes since about a week after that time. No matter what code I put in, it says capacity reached.

I can't even get the quote I got back then to show up on the site under my profile.

I am having similar problems. It looks like Alamo blacked out several, if not all, coupons for MCO and TPA in October. I tried a dummy reservation for a different airport (DFW), and the Contract/Coupon worked fine.

Anytime I've made a reservation with Alamo they have automatically sent a confirmation to my email, but for some reason did not this time. The first day or two after I made the reservation, I was able to pull it up under my profile on the Alamo site and tried to email it to myself, but for some reason never could get it to go through. I did print a copy from the Alamo site though and am glad I did, since just a few days after booking, I was suddenly unable to pull it up even on the Alamo site. It is still listed under my profile with the confirmation number, but when I click on the confirmation to pull it up, it says something about the coupon being unavailable and it won't open. When I called customer service a couple of weeks ago, the lady was able to pull it up and even told me the right price. She tried several times to email it to me, while I was on the line with her, but couldn't get it to go through. She then went to the same page we see and said that when she tried to click on the confirmation number, that it gave her the same message about the coupon being unavailable. That's when she told the rep at MCO should be able to see the same page she did originally and they would probably honor the discount.:headache: I have since gotten almost the same quote from Dollar and an even better quote from the Costco site for Budget. (Neither of them had any problems sending the confirmation emails automatically to my email:rolleyes1). I really wanted to go with Alamo though.

Actually, it is not a surprise that they reached capacity for some coupons and codes quickly. they have reached capacity or during a blackout period, like holidays. Are you by any chance going around Columbus day?

If you have a printed confirmation, you are good to go.

No, we're not going during the Columbus Day weekend - we're going at the end of October. I was aware of the coupon capacity issue, and I already had a reservation using the coupon for a MCO to MCO rental. However, we're considering changing to a TPA to MCO rental, and are unable to use the coupon. It isn't a huge deal in that it only adds $30 to the total.

As you dates come closer there will be more coupons and discount available. mousesavers.com has a pretty extensive list.

Thanks for the tip, and the many other helpful posts you've contributed to the disboards.

Hi GMEH1 Thanks again for all of your advice. I wanted you to know I have emailed Alamo two times and no response. I think they are just having major issues.

You are totally welcome, Katallo. Perhaps they are, but, that does not excuse them not replying.
