Anyhow, here is my problem. I LOVE SpectroMagic and as such I want the pages dedicated to it to be BEAUTIFUL! Well.... when I finished the pages for our 2002 trip I was quite disappointed. I had scraplifted a few ideas from Twopeas, but the pages were less than spectacular. Well... here I am, ready to scrap the parade from our 2004 trip and I have WAAAAY more pictures of the parade this time. But I am having a bit of combined scrapping block and scrapping anxiety. I hesitate to even START the pages, because I haven't got a clue what I want to do. How do I get past this? I am kind of anal about scrapping in chronological order (which is what stopped me from finishing the 2002 trip for so many months.... I was stuck on Spectro and refused to go any further :sad2: ) but I think I may end up jumping over the parade pages and going on to the next "segment" of the trip. But I'm sure that those parade pictures will be figuratively "hanging over my shoulder" until I finally tackle them.

Anyone have any great Spectro (or Main St. Electrical Parade) scrapping pages to share? And if so, mind if I scraplift? Or any other ideas, suggestions, hints, tips, whatever!? Thanks................P

Thanks for sharing. I noticed you used a dark background also. I wasn't sure if I should go dark, as the photos are dark, but a really light background seemed a bit extreme................P

Awesome pix! :teeth: And a beautiful LO.

I'm so jealous! We stayed in the mark to watch it our last night in '99. DH took one picture & realized that he'd run through 3 rolls of film that day & was completely out! :earseek: I was so sad! :( I especially love the one of Pete's Dragon with the smoke! Awesome! :teeth:

Cool pages :cool1: I think the dark background is a great way to go. It keeps the feeling of nighttime and I think the lights pop out better, especially with matting that highlights the light color.

Thanks for sharing!

pjilla---my pictures are not "spectacular" but they turned out ok. I used black cardstock and bordered each picture w/whatever color was the main color of the picture. I tried to stick w/a bright pink, bright yellow, lime green and bright orange to really make the pictures stand out. I went onto a website and found the words that are used in the openning of the parade and carried it through the 3 page layout. I don't have digital pictures so can't share it but think you have the idea. Hope this helps some. Understand the deal about doing things in chronological order. I'm the same way!!

Thanks to all who shared pictures, ideas, and advice! I am not scheduled to work tomorrow (so far) so if I end up with a semi-free day, I may try to take a crack at the pages. DD (9) gave me a great embellishment idea. If it works out, I'll share it! Thanks again..................P

Emily, your pics look great on the light color. I might have to take back what I said and try some on white :)

Great pictures and great ideas, thank you all for sharing, now I have to really figure out how to post pictures here.

I did this for the Electric Light Parade pictures that I took. I used a black backdrop, put the title in old letters and then created a path of swirls with yellow dots that i punched with a paper punch. It made it look like the lights on the floats.

I don't know how to post pictures or I would scan them for you.

Hope this helps.

I just finished my Spectromagic LO from last May, here it is

Spectromagic LO

Not that great, but I got MOST of the pics I took on two pages!!

K & M Wedding............
What a GREAT L/O for SeaWorld!! I absolutely love it!! What a great way to use a lot of those smaller pictures and not take up alot of space.
Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks to all who replied. I FINALLY had a day off yesterday (I thought substitute teaching was supposed to be PART-TIME work :confused3 ) and I tackled my SpectroMagic pages. They came out really nice. Certainly not perfect, but I am really happy with them. If any of you have the Becky Higgins "Sketches" book, look on page 108 at the "Miss Springville" layout for an idea of what I did (not the layout, but the embellishment). I kind of took Tupper's idea about punching out dots and using those as lights on the page, but instead of swirls I did circles. I divided the pictures according to what the predominant light color was (yellow, pink, blue, and green) and put the pictures with like colors on a page, matted with white and the predominant color on black background. Then I punched a bunch of small circles out of the predominant color and one darker and one lighter of the same color and layed out a few circles around the page. So my title page the predominant color is hot pink, second page is yellow, third page is blue and fourth page is green (all matted with white, the predominant color and mounted on black background).

For my title I used my PrintMaster program and did sort of a "wave" pattern for the word SpectroMagic and under that I put Parade. I did the words in bright blue that gradually changes to hot pink and back to bright blue.

Anyhow, thanks so much for all of your help. I REALLY appreciate it. Glad I got a chance to get these done and I am pleased with the results. Looks like I won't be finishing WDW 2004 before our trip to DL in 2005 like I said I would, but at least I've made some progress. ......................P

We just recently moved, but once I find my finished scrapbooks I will post a picture of my Spectromagic layout. I found this awesome sparkle paper in different colors; hot pink, yellow, orange, green and I think blue. Then I cut the pictures and matted them on the sparkle paper. Then we had some of the glittery Mickey confetti that they throw (because me DS wouldn't leave without picking a handful up!) and I put them in a clear little envelope to add to the page.

I just want to say that all that posted layouts they look GREAT!
I really widh I had more pictures from the parade...

GREAT JOB GUYS!

I don't have many pictures of the parade either. But I plan to take lots when I go in Decemember. I'm going to get a new camera that is getting good reviews for low light settings which should help (Fuji F10 - small camera... supports speeds up to ISO 1600 with some but fairly acceptable noise and up to ISO 800 with very little noise). Only thing I hate about digital cameras is you can't get high speed film for them :earboy2:
