I was just reading a post on the trip reports board and the person mentioned that when they arrived to their room, 6092, their verandah was flooded from when the ship had been washed down. Is there a certain area of the ship where the verandahs tend to flood from washing? Is there an area to avoid when requesting a verandah stateroom??

Thanks!!!

When we sailed on August of 02 our friends had a veranda on Deck 6 but not sure which stateroom number. We had a terrible rain storm before we left Port Canaveral. He said his veranda had 2 inches of water on it that would not drain off after the storm. He could not walk out on the veranda unless he took his shoes off.

He called housekeeping and then sent someone up with a wet/vac and fixed the problem.

But, this happened again when we had rain later in the cruise. Housekeeping came up again to fix it. This does seem to be a problem on some verandas....no place for the water to drain off.

We had standing water on our verandah one morning after a rain storm the night before, but by midafternoon all but a small puddle of it had dried up.

I found it odd that there was no "drainhole" for the water.

On our first cruise we had water but after a few hours at sea the strong sun just dried it right up. I don't think it is a big problem. Didn't have any on the second two cruises.

The water we found on the verandah upon embarkation quickly dried once we got moving.
