Problem with Online Booking Non-Home Resort at 7 Months

Ever since January 25th, I have been trying to book a reservation online for August 25 - Sept 1 at a non-home resort. Points needed are 313 - I have 188 points available in 2012 and need to borrow the rest from 2013.

I have been able to proceed through the "Check Availability", the "Select Your Resort" pages and it processes my request. However on the next page "Select Your Contract & Points", it states:
"Your Eligible Contract: These are your available Vacation Points. If you need more in order to book, you can borrow Vacation Points below."
My contract and points are NOT LISTED - so there is nothing to select and no way to proceed with booking, or borrowing.

If I change the request to one week earlier, Aug 18 - Aug 25th - my conteact and points are listed and I am able to proceed all the way through to the "Borrow Vacation Points" screen.

Has anyone else experienced the same? Can anyone else try and replicate to see if you get the same results? Shouldn't I be able to book 7 nights at a non-home resort exactly 7 months from my check-in date - even if my departure date is beyond 7 months?

:confused3

Why not just call MS and do it over the phone? If there is a problem, they can deal with it right then and there.

I just played around with this and was having the same problems. After changing a few dates I discovered I would be ok booking thru the end of Aug but any dates in Sept caused the system to stop showing my contracts to select from. And I do not have an Aug or Sept UY so it has nothing to do with that change.

It does appear to be a bug and I'd think DVC would appreciate an email.

Yep it's broke, guess everyone wore it out. ;)

Thanks for checking Kathy.....at least I know it's not just me.

At first I thought it was because my dates went beyond 7 months from today - but you're correct , it's just the one day in September that's the problem.
However, if I select my Home resort, there is no problem with dates in Sept.

Yep it's broke!

No problem. We've been told there was lots of testing but there are always things that show up when software is put out to general use. Unfortunately this one affected you.

Having the same problem here!
Who do I report this to, to get it fixed? Member services?

I wonder if that is the same problem we had booking the treehouses checking out on 9/1. We could see it on line but it said their was no eligible contracts. DH wound up calling to book it.

Call MS and report the problem, they will get it fixed.

:earsboy: Bill

Still broke :sad2:

I hate it did not last long before there was a problem with it. I truly hope it is just because its new and this is not going to be the way it is.

I agree. It seems no matter how thorough the testing, there are always a few "last" bugs lurking somewhere. This is why I think it's great that folks here are playing around with the application and posting about any issues so we can help determine if it's user error or an actual bug.

I have also had this problem. When trying to book an online reservation that crossed into September 2012, I received the following message, even though I was utilizing a March UY contract:

"Your travel dates may not overlap two Use Years. However, you can book through the end of one Use Year now and then book an additional
accommodation for the rest of your travel dates. Or if you prefer, please contact Member Services at (800) ******** to help you book your
stay."

I wrote MS yesterday and this is the response I received today:

I also called MS this morning to report this problem. I was told that this issue had not been previously reported, but the issue would be forwarded to IT for resolution.

If I'm understanding, your dates started in one use year and ended in the next. Since the points need to be taken from two different use years, I think they want you to break it into two reservations.

So if you have a Sept use year, and want to arrive late August and depart in Sept, the August days are in your '11 use year and Sept is in your '12.

Or just call MS when dates cross use years.

I am having the same issue this morning. Very frustrating. :headache: It better not cost me my reservation, or they will have one very upset member to deal with at 9am. :rolleyes1

No, I'm using a March UY contract and am still getting the message.

Happened to me this morning, too. Thanks to this thread, I knew I wasn't the only one having problems. My desired reservation was available, but when I got to the booking page, none of my contracts were listed so I couldn't proceed with the booking. It was so, so frustrating. There were 343 points available in my current UY and none of them were showing up. I held the room until MS opened at 9, then let it go once the CM was ready to grab it. It took about 20 seconds for it to go back into inventory, then he booked it for me. I was booking a value studio at Jambo for Labor Day weekend. As PP stated, had I lost the room to this "glitch", I would have been very, very upset.

We have a June UY and I couldn't book online this morning for a stay August 30-Sept. 4th. So I don't think the problem has anything to do with dates crossing a UY.
