Problem with mirrors and new found vanity?

Have any of the losers here discovered an addiction to your own reflection? I can't stop myself, car windows(not so good actually as the curve makes your middle fatter), shop windows, mirrors in shops, lifts etc. I just can't quite believe my silhouette! This is the slimmest I've been in 8 years and I have to keep checking it out.

I was at the school doors this afternoon blissfully in love with myself in the reflections, when I got affirmation from one of the other mums i hadn't seen in a while and her jaw actually dropped.

Has anyone else found themselves gazing Narcissus like at their tums and bums in strange places??

I have an in wall oven with a black door. MY new favorite place to stand is in front of it!

You are not alone.;)

LOL Elise!! Just the other day, I was walking down the street looking in shop windows and I caught myself looking at my reflection more than what was in the store displays!! :p ;)

Not Yet...haven't lost enought to check myself out...but I can't wait for the day!!!

NOOOOOOOOO!!

I stay away from anything larger than a 'compact' mirror :teeth:

My wife claims that with my weight loss I've discovered vanity. :teeth:

It actually isn't the reflection that I find so distracting, but rather the strange sensation from feeling muscle. After almost four decades of feeling flab whenever I touch my arm or my leg or my back, to suddently feel something solid is, well, a bit shocking! :)

Guilty, as charged! ;)

Not so much in public, but I do spend a lot of time in front of the full length mirror in our bedroom. ;)

Also, I am surprised at how I look in photos now. My sister took a video tape at the Magic Kingdom the other day (when we took her out of town company there). Every now and then I got into the picture and I was surprised at how I looked. I keep expecting to see the old me (the me that I still see in my head, I suppose) and there was this good looking, semi-muscular, thin lady appearing in the pictures. My jawline is really starting to show up! :) :) :) :)

Given some more time I know tat will be me!!!

My most recent "mirror" experience was a little different. We were at the mall and I looked at myself in a full length mirror. I think I get used to seeing myself in my home mirrors all the time and get a different perspective in different surroundings. Anyway I was looking at myself without being too obvious and realizing I look slimmer, and I was happy about that, but also realizing I have a long way to go still. I thought any stranger looking at me would still see me as a big person. And I thought wow, I must have looked REALLY bad before!!!

This is a bit OT, but I was at the store today and noticed something. In the past, when I was an obese person, I occasionally noticed people having hushed conversations around me, that clearly were about being overweight. They were rarely about me, but rather were probably a discussion they were having when I walked up, and seeing me walking up, they lowered their voices so I couldn't hear (or so they thought).

Well, something happened today that made me thing of that. I walked up to the queue at the market and there were some people talking about overweight and obesity. They were rather vociferous about various things, and what hit me was that they didn't lower their voices when I walked up.

I've never liked my reflection. I'm working on that though.

What a great feeling to see an acquaintance be so impressed with the new you :)
