I should've been able to check in for my flight as of 9:45 but I get an error message.
Huh??
I know I am within the 24 hr window for my connecting flight--my journey actually starts 3 hours sooner, but I couldn't check in until 24 hrs before the *final* flight, so I waited. When I checked the ressie it actually said "check in now?", so I know I'm not too early. But I still get denied when I click through. I have checked the tickets and entered the names exactly as they have them.
I called AC reservations but won't get a call back for up to an hour and a half. Grr! I wanted to see if there were better seats to select. This is a PAIN.
Anyone have a trick I've missed? Or anyone have similar issues so I will feel like misery loves company at least?
And the next question, if this doesn't work out online, can we drive up to the airport tonight to print our boarding passes and get luggage tags from the kiosk? I have reservations about leaving our luggage with them too far ahead--gives them extra chances to lose it--but if we could get the tags and then dump it on the conveyer in the morning, that would make it worth the trouble.
Airports involved are YHZ, YUL and of course, MCO.
---Update, AC called me back. I can't check in because there's a pet on the reservation. For one of four in the party. And NO WHERE does it say that, she said the error message is generic and the notice "now you can check in" is also generic. So AC has managed to waste my time and p*** me off before I even get to the airport. When travelling with a pet you have to do everything in person. The whole party. At 5:00 in the morning.
Grr.
At least she checked seats for me and I know I'm not missing anything there, there wasn't anything better. But I HATE going to the airport with no boarding passes or anything.
Does AC give you a discount for purchasing the extra luggage allowance online? I know we will have two checked bags, and I was planning on getting that out of the way first. I'll be extra annoyed if it costs me more to do it in the morning.
Lalala, I'm going to Florida tomorrow. If I'm not arrested for assaulting an AC staffer first.
We are unable to complete your check-in due to your service request.
Please see an Air Canada agent at Check-in Assistance at the airport.
