Young Couple (My fiancee and I are 25) - we REALLY like Blue Bayou. Awesome atmosphere, but is very crowded. Get preferred seating and you will be good to go. Cafe Orleans isnt as crowded and it is nice, but doesn't have the same ambiance.

Family - If you want to do a sitdown, there is the Celebration Round-up BBQ and Plaza Inn, both of which I believe are very family friendly.

Good luck.

Just want to point out, since I asked about this a while ago, Plaza in is only TS for breakfast it's CS the rest of the day.

Celecration Round up is now called Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, I would recommend this for the group, but check the menu first since you said you had a picky eater. DLR menus

For the two of you I suggest Naples in DTD along with Blue Bayou.

I just wanted to mention and you probably know, in DL there is no alcohol so if you want a drink of wine with dinner, it would probably be good to mention that and you could get more advice on DCA and DTD where that's available.

For the couple, BB hands down. :) If you want a drink however I'd go with WCT in DCA or Napa Rose in GCH or even Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD, if you are seated outside or upstairs it can be very romantical. :) Of course families will be at any of these places so be aware of that.

For the family, RFC in DTD, absolutely 100%. :)

I like Napa Rose, BB but I also like Steakhouse 55. GK, Rainforest, or BBQ for the family, just depends on peoples tastes.

Heads up about Rainforest Cafe it can be loud and scary for some young ones. :scared1:

We went once with our two kids and nieces and nephew. Three out of five kids were slightly freaked out and did not eat because they were on edge waiting for the loud noise to start. The other two kids ate everything and were not freaked out at all.

Families do well at Redd Rockett's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland. They have several varieties of Pizza, many salads, and pasta options (including their chicken fusilli, a favorite amongst the regular guests).

Thanks y'all. How loud can it get in Rainforest? Not worried about my 'big boy' son but my 10month old baby.........

It can be pretty loud. When we took my youngest when she was a little over a year she was pretty scared. We were sitting near the big elephant and everytime it started to "rain" she freaked out and we had to pick her up.

How does your baby do when the "big boy" comes racing into the room yelling? Or when the TV is suddenly turned on and the volume had been left pretty high? Those are probably a good comparison to the noise at Rainforest....the conversation level is pretty loud to start with, but then with no real warning the animals all start making VERY loud noises, sounds of rain falling and thunder....it startles a lot of adults the first time so if your baby startles and cries at things like this...Rainforest cafe is not a wise choice, IMHO. And it repeats every 10 minutes or so.....so just as you get baby calmed down.......

Our local Rainforest was actually sited by the health department for the noise being above some required setting....they had to turn it down....but to me, it's still extremely loud. Rainforest has nice food and when the "show" isn't going on you can still pretty much hear your conversation...but the show goes off every 10 minutes or so, and conversation is impossible even with the person you are sitting next to, let alone those across the table.

The BBQ is a lot of fun for families, good food, though limited choices so check the menu first to be sure the picky eaters can find something. Another really fun meal for families is Carnation Cafe....the adults will enjoy a good meal in a nice atmosphere/semi-quiet restaraunt.....kids will get a big kick out of their dinner being served on Mickey head plates with little compartments for all the food, lol. The PB&J is really fun because you get to put your sandwich together from a bunch of ingredients (marshallmallows, raisins, bananas etc). My girls are teens now but they STILL like to go there for their kids meal, lol. And who doesn't like Ice Cream at the end of a meal (sharing is recommended as the ice cream is big!).

It can be loud of course, it's supposed to like you're eating in a Rain Forest with animals around. To counter this simply ask to be seated by one of the fish tanks, the animals that come to life are far enough away from the tanks that your kids shouldn't be too traumatized. :) You can also ask to eat upstairs, outside on the terrace. In the winter months they have heaters out there and it can be really neat to eat outside.
