We will be at IOA and US Dec. 13 and 14. We will be staying on site and therefore have express passes.....do we need a touring plan or will be truly be fine just doin' what we want?

You will absolutely do fine without a touring plan. Enjoy your trip and enjoy your hotel express.

We were there last year at that time and we did not need express pass until late in the afternoon.

we all were newbies at one time and probably had the same questions you do.


the only thing we can't help you with is the weather.
never know when it will rain.

other than that, many homies can give you great advice and answer any question you want to pose to us.


i always suggest to newbies to pull up the interactive map of universal ioa and the studios to check out the rides and what to expect with them.

To tag onto mac's point about rain, if the weather looks iffy I would go to USF rather than IOA. More to do there where you can stay out of the rain. You can stay in a relatively long show like Terminator, Disaster, the make-up show or Twister while the weather is nasty, and most of the rides are inside unlike Hulk and the Dragons.
