Probably a rookie question... or 2

This summer's trip will be a family reunion: the 5 of us, my brother in law and his wife and 2 adult kids, and my sister in law and her husband. I'm the official trip planner.

I've gone to My Disney Experience and registered my immediate family.

Question #1: my kids are showing up as adults-- can I assume that it's because they count as such on the DDP?

Question #2: should I include all the extended family? They won't be on our resort reservation; they may not even stay at the same resort unless we get a nice discount. (They prefer mods, and my family of 5 won't fit into the mods. Nope, not even POR-- my son will NOT fit into the Murphy Bed.)

Thanks for any guidance you can offer!

1: A Disney "adult" is anyone aged 10+ so your children are considered as such when it comes to tickets, DDP, etc.

2: I would recommend linking them to your MDE account especially since you're the one planning. It'll just make it easier in the long run when it comes to booking FP+ (if you're planning on doing the attractions together).

What if we're going to do some attractions together, and not others?

To be honest, a family medical crisis has meant that I'm pretty much the only one focused on this at all, understandably of course. But I'm going with my gut-- phoning in ADRs next week for all 11 of us, knowing that some will probably be changed over the coming months. (I figure it's a lot easier to drop people from an ADR than to add them.)

If, say, we want to be in MK and my nieces choose to be in DHS, will having them linked on my MDE account be a problem?

It will be easier to link everyone to your account. Everyone in your party does not have to get the same FP. When you book you check off the names for each FP you want. You will have to link everyone's tickets though before you can schedule FP's, but they do not have to be staying in the same resort. Good luck with the planning.

Thank you both so much!!!

Last question (for now, anyway :) )

Do they then also open up an account of their own? Or is mine the only one for all 3 families?

You can have them linked in MDE and have different fast passes for different people, even at different parks. I have booked my families trip for next week, which includes my parents and brother. One day we have fast passes for MK with my husband and daughter and they have separate passes that I booked at MGM. Once you get into fast pass you will see it is very easy to select just some member and make separate ressies for different party member.

If they aren't on a room reservation you made they will need to creat accounts.
