Probability of AP rates after 8/23?

What do you think? We are AP holders and are going 8/28-9/1. We're going regardless of what we have to pay for a room, but I like to dream of AP rates so I can maybe, maybe, maybe afford the Poly instead of POR. With all of the latest promotions, I just wonder if they may not offer AP rates during the value season.

I have my fingers crossed for AP rates too! Last Jan. during value season we had the POR for 79.00/night AP rate.

As I have read elsewhere, it will likely depend on the success of the FTP. Note that FTP must be booked by the end of June - this should give Disney a good estimate of occupancy rates for Sept - Oct (FTP expires end of Oct). Since AP and general public room-only rates are used to unload rooms that are otherwise expected to be empty, the number of rooms offered at AP discount will probably be based on remaining room inventory.

I sympathize with you; we'd already purchased our 2 PAPs for use this fall - but hadn't activated them. Luckily (as empty-nesters) we were able to go with FTP and simply delay when we start our PAP year, but it did throw a monkey wrench into our plans.

Seeing that they came out with AP rates for July and August (until the 23rd), after they came out with FTP (and not too long after either) I would still think that AP rates would be available for after Aug 23.

I don't think all the rooms would sell out then, because so many kids are back to school then (and as a parent I wouldn't want to pull my kids out in the first weeks of school).

I would just try to sit tight, but if you really want POR you might want to make a reservation. I stubbornly did not make one and I couldn't get in there after AP rates were released. I did read that people who had reservations there already were able to have the rate changed to the AP rate though. Well maybe it's for the best - I'm pretty excited about staying at CSR now
