Is there anyone out there who thinks they could remove the garbage can as well as some of the standerby's from this photo?

Considering blowing it up but don't like those distractions.

Thanks!

Upload the full size file somewhere and put a link to it in this thread.

The folks in the background around the doorway should be relatively easy. There's not a lot of detail back there and there's plenty areas to sample from. The trash can will be slightly more difficult, because in addition to getting the sidewalk to show through the railing, you've also got to include the diagonal shadows that the railing would cast on the sidewalk (see the shadow the railing casts on the sidewalk just to the right of the trash can).

It's doable, but I haven't got the time right now. Maybe someone else can help.

How many of the people do you want to get rid of? Also what are you going to use it for. Not being personal but as several have said some parts easy and some parts more challenging. Just want to know how perfect it needs to be!

To do correctly you are looking at probably several hours of work.

All I see in a red 'x'???

No, it was 800x? in size - I reduced it to put it up here. It's HUGE!

it's much easier to edit the full size file, plus the end result will be much better,

if this is edited, then blown up it won't look that great

I was hoping to blow it up to hang on my wall.....that's it, pretty simple. I know that the garbage can is going to be a total PITA. Which is why I tossed the photo up here. I was mainly hoping someone could remove that and the 3 people in the forefront of the picture. They don't all have to be removed, just the gentleman who is backlit in the doorway, the girl stepping off the curb and the man walking into the street.

I had resized the photo strictly to post it here to see if it was doable :thumbsup2. In it's unedited size the file is HUGE!!!!!

I have a pm from someone saying he will give it a shot pirate:. Thanks everyone for looking :).

I think that the garbage can will be much easier to remove than the people because you would just be replacing those pixels with the side walk, which could be done in about 15 minutes. Replacing the people is going to be more difficult because the background isn't continuous.

See how little I know. To me that garbage can/fence area is nearly impossible. I can barely use the clone stamp. Is that what would be used to remove it? I have CS3 with very limited knowledge of how to use it.

Even if all people don't come out, maybe just the backlit person in the doorway. Had I brought my tripod, all of those would've been ghosts.....guess hindsight is 20/20, huh?

There are many ways to go about it, using the clone tool is one. Another way is to just copy and paste "like" areas over the garbage can and then use the smudge to remove the transition lines. To make it easier, you can use paths to select only the fence and put that into a top layer and then replace the can and fence with the side walk pixels from next to the can and then make your top layer fence visible.

I have found the best way to learn techniques is to start small, and only learn one technique at a time even if you have to do "pre-projects" to get ready for the project you really want to do.
