Various restaurants have prix fixe menu. Can the items on the prix fixe menu be shared? We will not be using the dining plan
I don't see any reason why they couldn't.Various restaurants have prix fixe menu. Can the items on the prix fixe menu be shared? We will not be using the dining plan

Order your DD her own soup or salad, and then whoever is eating the prix fixe can share the entree and dessert with her.I was looking at Coral Reef and Chefs of France. I have a 13 y.o. DD that eats very little and kids meal would not appeal to her
Prix Fixe is not price "per a person." Prix Fixe is one price for multiple courses. It's not an AYCTE meal. I think folks are getting confused on the terminology. Most places will not let you share 1 prix fixe meal between multiple people as the cost is per a person.

Not confused at all. Most restaurants it is understood it is per a person if you order that option. Of course Disney probably is more relaxed by I wouldn't expect the 3rd party restaurants to let you share.
I often dine with others who get the prix fixe option and I pretty much never do. I've never been made to feel weird about this - including at some very upmarket places in large cities. Its way too much food for me, and I've never thought it a faux pas. I will say, when doing this, we tend to start by buying decently priced wine, top shelf cocktails, and while I hate it, I attract some fancy pants scotch drinkers, so they may not bother with us, as its appear from the outset, the table will be dropping money.
I didn't say everyone at the table had to get it just that usually sharing is frowned upon. Now I have been to restaurants where it was all or no one for prix fix and other places that if you wanted to share it you had to pay a sharing charge. By per a person i just meant for sharing sake. It sounds like you and the OP are planning on buying other things but I imagine at most places if a couple sits down with the intent to share one prix fix they may get some push back.

The most important thing you mentioned is that you are not using the DDP. If you were using the plan you would not be allowed to share. Since you are paying OOP you will be allowed (and it is your right) to share. Just another example of why the DDP is such a rip off and is restrictive and wasteful.
Why does this have to turn into a bash the Dining Plan thread? Not what the OP was asking. It has been established by PPs that sharing is permitted both with and without the Dining Plan - except at very few places - and that others have confirmed they have shared a prix fixe meal. The most important thing you mentioned is that you are not using the DDP.
