Does Disney have any policies in place regarding kids being on a dining reservation and not eating?

There are some locations we would like to eat, but our 4 year old is extremely picky and will not eat any of the menu items (kids or adult). Can he join us and not order anything, or is it required that if he is on the reservation we have to pay for a meal. This isn't about him sharing off our plates, I have no problems paying Disney prices for him in the restaurants where he will eat AYCE stuff, but a few restaurants I know he will not eat a single bite.

You are talking about buffets and a place like space 200, is that right?
He will be charged the child price, regardless of what or how much he eats.

The only AYCE. restaurant we’ve been to is ‘Ohana where all are charged by the head and I doubt exceptions are made.Of course you can call and ask this question.

The only prix fixe we been to at WDW is Chefs de France and perhaps M. Paul.
They also offer an a la carte menu so choices for all.

The policy is you pay, whether or not your child eats. At Space 220, you can try to get the lounge seating (day of queue) where he would not be required to order prix fixe, or anything at all. But you could not book an advance reservation.

Any pixie dust people have gotten by not being charged (kid sleeping, adult with feeding tube, etc) is YMMV, and with Chapek in charge, this mileage has gotten much fewer and farther between.
