Private driver

So, I think our family would like to skip the DME experience and use a private driver. I've heard mixed reviews on Orlando Transportation. Any others you recommend?

Florida Tours. Hands down! Great service, clean cars, professional attitudes and still very personable that you'll have a fun conversation to and from the airport. They track your flight when arriving and will call to confirm things if something changes on their end (we had a flight number change one year and we didn't even realize it, as we were sitting in the plane at the gate, they called to make sure it was the right flight they were tracking). You have the option for a grocery stop (great for DVC stays and fun to do a Supermarket Sweep run... mostly they run to Publix for the stop, I recommend taking advantage of clipless coupons through the Publix card *you sign up via your phone number, "clip" the online coupons and they are applied at checkout*). They pick you up 2 hours prior to your flight on departure day. I think they're reasonably priced and we look forward to using them again when we go.

Yes, I sound like an ad, but we have always had great experiences with them. We found great reviews and gave them a try. We haven't looked for another option since. No, I'm not employed by them, or have anything to do with them other than being a very satisfied customer over the years.

I think people usually refer to this as "towncar service." I'm afraid your title made it sound like you are looking for an individual, not someone who drives for a service, and you might get fewer replies.

I have used Tiffany Towncar numerous times. No complaints. They will do a grocery stop if you request it.

Also note that Uber and Lyft can now pick up at the airport. There is a big Uber/Lyft thread.

Have only ever used Tiffany Towncar for private service from MCO to WDW. I rented a car once last October and we drove on our last trip in May. However, DH and I are once again traveling alone and he will not do DME. He wants instant gratification at baggage claim and we always request the FREE grocery stop which is 30 minutes. Maritza usually takes our reservation online or by phone and I ALWAYS Request Waseem or Renatta who have both been with company many years. They meet us at bottom of stairs usually right away and new loading for towncar is right outside on ground floor. Both are very good drivers and very pleasant. Over the years Waseem and I have had great conversations and he gets a hug when we see him. DH is the quiet type and I usually visit with the driver. However, they are both very comfortable with people who do not want a conversation. Cars have been very clean and comfortable. I have recommended them many times and folks have always been very pleased.

From what I understand, Renatta drives an SUV. We have never had an SUV and have never had her, but several people have reported good things about her.

We had 6 people and we had a van, wrapped with "Tiffany Towncar" logo. Really friendly drivers, both ways. I don't know their names.

We have had Waseem and Renatta only for towncars thus far. When I requested him for an SUV, Tiffany stated that they did not drive those. I know Waseem owns his own car so it may be that--now thinking back I think Renatta made have picked us up once in an SUV. It depends on if it is just DH and I--when just us we only need the towncar. Because I couldn't get Waseem to drive an SUV in Oct we just rented one...DH loves Tiffany and when we discuss trip plans he usually demands it--he says it is "one thing" that makes it a Disney vacation.

Renatta is from Brazil and is cute and talkative, Waseem is from Pakistan and has successful, beautiful children but no grandbabies yet ( or at least I don't think so will have to ask in November)... Renatta says she just bases conversation on the type of vibe she gets from her passengers. One of my friends that I recommended Tiffany too has actually used them to give her clients treat bags when they pick the clients up. They have also donated different things to help Wish trips. I just like the fact that I can request the same people every time. When I have called on the phone they remember me because of my unusual first name. One driver named Mark from several years ago accidentally got some of the dog food he bought mixed in with our groceries. So we called and just turned it in to the driver on the way back. So for now they are our go to.

It is just nice being greeted at the airport with a smile and "welcome back--it's been a while"
