On the advice of various posters here, DW and I decided to try "Gulliver's Grill at Garden Grove" over at the Swan Hotel. Well, at first we couldn't find the place? No signage indicating where "Gulliver's" is located! Asked staff and they pointed us in the right direction. If I would have read the Dining Guide and noticed that Gulliver's is actully the "Garden Grove Cafe" for breakfast and lunch, then for dinner it changes names. Plenty of signage for the "Garden Grove Cafe". We are seated by hostess. We look around the HUGE dining room (200+ seating by my estimate) and realize that we are the only ones there. When our server comes to the table, she informs DW, that I had called ahead and arranged private dining for the two of us, She then asked me with a wink, what the occasion was. Smart cookie she was, knows how to get a good tip! Well as our meal went on we still had no company for dinner. I think every staff member stopped by to see how we were enjoying our meal, I even asked if the chef would be out to serve our meal at one point. Finally when we were finished and settling up the bill, another family with 3 kids showed up.
What timing
Must have been some strong pixie dust in the air
Thanks to all who recommended the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin, we never would have had this experience to remember.
By the way the food was great and the 20% discount was not too hard to swallow either
