Private Dining at GF

Has anyone done private dining at the GF.

I have read on other threads that you can have a table on the beach with your own butler and all sorts. Thought it would be a great end to our vow renewal - watching the water pageant and Wishes over a romatic dinner (with our two children there too but heh!)

I have placed a call to private dining at GF, but awaiting their reply.

Just wondered if any one had any reports and an idea of the cost.

The Private Dining team at the GF are an absolute pleasure to deal with. We arranged a meal in our suite when we stayed there with lots of family at Christmas time a couple of years ago.

There are so many options to choose from. You can choose from a pre-made package, order set meals from one of the GF restaurants (for an extra surcharge), or, customize your own personal menu (this can be very expensive). When I called up to make the arrangements, they faxed over the menus to me and the CM said that they would arrange basically anything we required. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole meal is arranged for you and butler-service can be provided throughout for an additional charge. We decided to go for one of the set packages but then changed the dessert and ordered a couple of extras (white chocolate castle and Mickey Mouse).

With regards to the cost, I'm not sure how much it would be if they arranged you an experience on the beach, but our in-room experience was just over $150 each plus (I think) $50 for the butler service and 20% on top for the tips. It would have been more if we wanted it on the beach, but obviously you can (within reason) set your own price by selecting whichever menu options suit your budget and tastes. It's not cheap but is a truly incredible experience. It's so nice to be able to enjoy a relaxing evening with fine food and excellent service without having to go to a restaurant. If you really want to splash out, they even offer private dining on board their yacht!

I'm sure that I have the menus somewhere which they faxed over to me. If you would like me to scan them and e-mail them to you, I would be happy to do so.

The staff at GF arranged a meal for our wedding reception on the beach. It was for 20 people and they provided 2 butlers at $50 each. I think the cost per head was approx $60 excluding drinks and tips. It really was a wonderful experience!

If you were to email them, do they have a standard list of ideas to help you choose, (feeling very un-imaginative at the moment and need a kick start) this is somthing I would like to consider doing as a surprise for hubby to make our stay that bit extra - he has always wanted to stay here, and will do so next year - probably the first and last time, due to the cost.

Actually all a bit up in the air - I have called them and they said they would send a menu - no reply as yet. I called to enquire what was available and they offered their yacht and pontoon boat as well as areas around the hotel. When I asked about dining on the beach during "wishes" they gave me another number to call "management" - i have left some messages but again, no reply.
So all a bit frustrating at the moment.
I will post details as and when I hear something.
