We will be going to Wilderness Lodge after our cruise on the Wish. We are not doing a park on disembark day, so are in no real hurry to get to the resort. I am considering doing a private car instead of DCL bus to potentially make that morning a bit more leisurely. Any thought as to what is the latest time I could have the car pick us up that morning and if there would be any reason we would have to be off the ship earlier than that time?

I would schedule the car for 10:00 and leave the ship around 9:30. That would leave a buffer after the resort busses and most of the guests have left.

DCL wants everyone off the ship around 9am. Shortly after that they begin strongly encouraging guests to leave. You can’t really hang out and relax regardless of transportation. Just remember passengers on the next cruise are just as anxious to board as you were, so the ship must be vacated and turned over for that to happen.

Your goal is to have a more leisurely disembark but I've never felt that morning was relaxing or leisurely. Now I know some try to stretch it out and take their time. They love it. To me it's like sitting in a restaurant where they have locked the doors and are sweeping the floors and cleaning the tables around you. Is that really relaxing? They really want people up and moving early. The crew has to clean , reset and prepare to go again. Some are assigned to tell you goodbye and come again. But their underlying assignment is to keep people moving and the path clear from loiters. So if you are just moving leisurely, we'll your in the way. Please forgive me I don't mean to be rude.
Plus there's not really anything to do except breakfast.
Now there will be so much more to do at the Wilderness Lodge and WDW area. If it were me I'd get off that ship and get to the resort and start exploring. The Lodge is wonderful and if you want more go over to Disney Springs as a start. Better than hanging around a ship I think.
You might consider Disney transportation to disembark. If you do I believe your luggage can be taken care of at the lodge. However in private transportation I suspect you may have to carry it around until check in. At least that was true when we did many years ago. Others may know better about current policies. But a simple phone call to the Lodge will give you the correct answer.

We are usually almost the last ones off the ship. We can't stand waiting in the crowded hallways waiting to disembark so we eat breakfast (second seating) and then wait in the lobby until they're kicking us out. We're usually walking off the ship around 9:15am. We arrange the car service for 9:45am and by then, we can almost always go straight for our bags and walk out and it's very quite.

You can drop your bags off anytime at the resort and check in even if your room isn't ready. We do this often and go straight to the parks.
