Has anyone rented the private cabanas at TL? Do you have photos you could share? Also where are they located? Are they close to the little tyke play area? This is our first visit to the water parks and I am thinking about trying a rental at TL over BB but I sort of want to know what I am getting for the money. There are 6 of us and the cabanas are supposed to seat 6. Also, is this something I should call for in advance or ask concierge at our hotel to book for us? Thanks so much!

They must be booked in advance. Call 407-WDW-PLAY. At TL we have them in two areas, one area is close to Ketchakiddie Creek; you can request that area when making a reservation.

Thank you! Good to know I can request one close to Ketchakiddie Creek. That would be excellent for us.

We rented one last August - loved it ! Besides having your own space you had towels and a cooler with bottles of water. And there was a person who would go and get your food orders (we had to pay for the food, but didn't have to wait in line). I'll look to see if I can find pictures.

This sounds like a great idea ! Could anyone fill me on the cost? Is there a certain amount of time that you are allowed to have access to it ?

I am pretty sure it's $250. And if I remember correctly, you have it all day.

What about these special spaces I've read about?

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are now offering premium spaces for rental. Premium spaces can accommodate up to six and cost $300 plus tax for the full day. There are four premium spaces in each water park, and they include the personalized services of an attendant, private lockers, all-day drink mugs, cooler with bottled water, lounge furniture, tables, and rental towels. The attendant will also offer advice and help with food and drink orders. At Typhoon Lagoon, the spots are called "Beachcomber Shacks" -- ask about them at High 'N Dry. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance reservations are available by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

You can now also rent a premium beach chair space at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. This new offering includes 2 lounge chairs, an umbrella, a cocktail table and 2 towels. These will be available only on a same-day, walk-up basis. Guests may stop at High and Dry Rentals to check availability. The price is $40 plus tax.

I literally just hung up with Disney to rent the cabanas! I have 12 people so they booked two cabanas and the total cost was $318.50 per cabana. The woman told me they would be together but to get there early to pick which area we wanted to be in. We are going in July so I figured it was wise in order to get out of the sun and the afternoon rain. You get towels, cooler of ice and water all day and refillable mugs for the entire day.

I work in the merchandise and rentals area at Typhoon Lagoon. :) The beachcomber shacks, aka cabanas, are very popular this time of year, and sometimes we are sold out before the park even opens, because people book in advance. :) The cost is $300, plus tax. The umbrella spaces are $50, plus tax, this time of year and are just as popular as the cabanas. The umbrellas will accomodate up to four people, the cabanas up to six. You can add additional guests at the beachcomber shacks, up to a max of ten, for $25 per person, plus tax. You cannot add additional guests to the umbrellas. We have 12 beachcomber shacks available to rent and 22 umbrellas spaces.

Thank you! Does anyone know where I could find a photo of the cabanas? Thanks.

I don't have a photo handy right now, but if you google Typhoon Lagoon beachcomber shack and click on the images tab, you'll see some photos. :) They're very nice.

Slightly on the same topic, there are also cabanas for rent at the Poly pool. We really enjoyed that!

I just called to reserve 2 Beachcomber Shacks for 12 of us in July. My parents may/may not join us (depending on how they feel that morning) so that would make it a total of 14.
I asked if I could add them for $25 and I was told NO, that I would have to get a 3rd Shack.
From what you are saying, can I book the Shacks in advance and then add them at the park if they are with us? I don't want to get there and be told that 2 of us can't be in there!

thanks!

You were given incorrect info. There is a max of ten guests allowed per shack. You just have to pay the extra $25 per person if you have more than six, so you will be able to add your parents for the additional $25 each. Not a problem at all. When you check in at High and Dry rentals, just tell the CM you want to add two additional people to one of the shacks. You'll only have eight at one shack and six at the other, so you'll be fine. Book the two shacks and add your parents when you get there and check in. The reservation people you call don't have a way to ring up addional people, we always have to do that, so maybe that's where the confusion came in. Have fun!

This posting is a couple years after the original but people might still be wondering about the Cabanas. My two teenagers and I decided to rent a cabana after arriving at Typhoon Lagoon and realizing how hot it was. I needed shade and a good "home base" for the boys to check in to. I did not reserve ahead-I asked when I arrived and one was available. We were ushered to a very private area located to the right of the wave pool. The fridge was full of bottle water, 6 fresh towels were laid out for us and 2 cabana girls were waiting for us. They checked in on us every 1/2 hour or so to see if we needed anything. They were willing to bring us lunch too!! The lounge chairs could be left under the large shelter or brought out into a sunny patch.

This was worth every single penny that I spent!

Do you mind sharing the cost? I definitely see it being a good investment if you plan to be at the water park all day!!

We rented one last Sept. and it was 320. While it was nice, I don't think we'd do it again for that expense unless we were going during a busy time. We get there at rope drop and honestly there are a lot of free shaded and even somewhat covered areas with chairs etc. We went to Blizzard Beach during our trip as well and were able to find a great shaded/covered area for free without our stuff being bothered etc.
