I am a single 30yr old looking at my options for taking my parents on a trip to WDW.....2 studios would be my first choice, but just in case, I was wondering if you all could help me with opinions on the 1 bedrooms.

I can vaguely remember the layout and I've looked at some pictures, but nothing is showing me what I really want to know.

I cannot sleep in the same room as my parents...they snore! It's a fact that we have discussed openly. Is there enough separation between the living room and the bedroom for me to sleep in peace???

Also, is the bathroom arranged such that we wouldn't be stepping on each other all the time????

OKW would probably be a good choice for a one bedroom unit for your situation. They are the largest DVC one bedrooms. But be sure to request to be in bldg #30 or higher. There was a design change, and building under 30 require you to enter the bathroom THROUGH the master bedroom, 30 & higher have a bathroom entrance through the laundry room.

FYI, there are no connecting studios at DVC resorts. You won't be able to book two studios and have an internal door between that connects them.

If you do end up booking two studios, you can request that they be close together and the resort will attempt to honor that request. But realistically they could be down the hall from one another, on separate floors, in separate buildings, etc.

I think i heard my dvc rep say the 1brs in AKV have 2 bathrooms. Can anyone verify or dispute this?

The villas in the new Kidani Village area will have two bathrooms in the 1B. It looks like those units won't be opening until May 2009, and DVC isn't even accepting reservations for them yet.

The 1Bs that are open now in the old Jambo House building just have a single bathroom.

Once they do start accepting reservations for Kidani, members will know which type of room they are getting at the time of the booking.

Why not go for a VALUE 2-bedroom at AKV? You can't beat the point deal and then you would both have your own space. I think that's what I would go for! Even in "magic" season you could do five nights for 140 points!

I think most of the 1BR units share a common wall with the living area that the sleeper sofas are in. So, even if you close the bedroom door you are probably only a couple feet from the heads of the people behind the shared wall. If they snore loudly I could see it resonating through the wall pretty easily.

I agree, that 2 studios or a value 2BR at AKV would probably be the better choice if you have the points and are worried about being disturbed.
