I've never flown to Disney and stayed at a Disney resort simultaneously. The past resort trips I've driven, and the past flight trips we've stayed off property. It just occurred to me that I'm not sure how to get boarding passes for my flight home. Is there somewhere at the resort where I can get them printed? Or will I have to wait until we get back to the airport?

I have printed them at the front desk of my hotel (POR, POP,) and if you are at the parks, just go to guest relations with your confirmation number and they are happy to do it for you, even when you need to choose seats. I set my iPhone with an alarm and put the confirmation number in as a note.

If staying at a Disney resort, you can get your boarding passes printed and check your bags at the Resort Airline Check-in desk as early as 12 hours before your flight. You must have the process completed (not just be in line) no later than three hours before your flight. The desk is open from 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., so you won't be able to use RAC if you have an early flight.

If you are flying an airline with assigned seats, there's generally no need to do anything before you use RAC.

If you are flying on Southwest or some other airline where checking in at a certain time is important, you have other things to deal with. But it's the checking-in part, not the printing-out part, that's important. Post again if this is really what you're worried about.

Some resorts (I have seen it at Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Jambo House and Kidani Village) have some kind of internet kiosk which allows access to the Online Check-In websites of airlines and print out the boarding pass. Other internet services were payable, but Online Check-In is free.

They look pretty much like ATM machines.

You can also check-in online using a smart phone, iPad, etc, then reprint your boarding passes at the airport if required.

OK. So I can print them at the resort and have them in hand when we leave for the airport. That's what I was hoping would be the case. But a pp mentioned Southwest and that made me think of something else. I bought the early check-in option on Southwest for $10 (can't think of the name of it right now). My understanding was that I don't have to do the online check-in thing and that they do it automatically, I just have to show up with a boarding pass. Is that right or am I confused?

Yes, you can print them at the airport, but when we stayed at BWV in March Disney printed them for us and they were in our ME info they slipped under the door during our last night. I checked in online with my smart phone the night before, so they would not have been able to even access that info until after 5:30 the night before we left.

With EBCI you will be checked in automatically around 36 hours before your flight. You can view your boarding numbers starting 24 hours before your flight and can print at that time too. However, as I noted, there's really no reason to go out of your way to get the BPs printed way ahead of time. You can use RAC to print your BPs or wait until the airport. Under some circumstances, you may even find them on your door without you having to do anything.

Thank you so much for the explanation.:goodvibes

We flew home yesturday with US Airways and our boarding passes were hanging on our door yesturday morning at Wilderness Lodge.

I believe most, if not all, the resorts are at this time now just automatically printing your boarding passes and hanging it on your door with your ME info. We stayed at AKL Kidani in March and they had everything we needed hanging on the door. I had checked in earlier in the day, but, they obviously had checked us in also and had the boarding passes printed in the ME envelope. Now keep in mind, they need to have this info from you first in order to do this so make sure you give them your return flight info when making arrangements for ME.

This does happen, but whether or not you get BPs on your door appears to depend on the time of day that your flight departs, and it also only happens if you used DME for transport on the way from MCO to WDW. In addition, one of the things typically included in the packet on the door are some form of luggage tag based on the number of bags that were transported to the resort by DME. Please note, however, that you still need to go to the RAC desk to officially check your bags or you will need to do a complete baggage check at the airport as these are not actual airline luggage tags.
