This was our first trip to the Fort, and our first trip to Disney since 2001. DD is 4 and VERY into the Princesses, so we figured it would be a good time for her first trip. My FIL flew in from TX to join us.

The trip down couldn't have been smoother - Magical Express was splendid and Garden Grocer had our food already in the cabin.

Our first night's dinner was at Chef Mickey's - so much fun!

The boat ride to & from the Contemporary was lovely and relaxing - and Katherine could NOT stop laughing at "a train that goes THROUGH a building?!?!?!"

The next day was DHS. We were supposed to be there at rope-drop, but I got my first lesson in You Can't Hurry Your FIL 101, and we arrived around 10ish. It was packed and TSMM fastpasses were for 4:30 already, so we watched the Disney Junior and Little Mermaid shows, then went to lunch at Hollywood & Vine. Despite having fun with Mickey & Co the night before, Katherine decided she was shy that day & didn't want to greet anyone. Until June came out...

And then Jake...

Home for naps and then on to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Food was yummy, entertainment was entertaining, but First and Foremost: Katherine danced with Chip.

And ate a Mickey Bar.

Sunday was our first MK day. Let the Princess Hunting begin! We managed to get out the door a little earlier (and the easy boat commute was perfect), so my blood pressure dropped a bit. We charted a course through Fantasyland, hitting Peter Pan, iasm, Pooh, Teacups, Dumbo, and Barnstormer, as well as greeting Merida and Minnie/Daisy/Donald/Goofy in their Storybook Circus locations. (Major shout-out to easyWDW for all the excellent advice that made our touring plan both easy and flexible! Thanks, Josh!!)

Home for naps (thank God for naps!), because it's Halloween Party Night!! Katherine dressed as Rapunzel for MNSSHP, complete with a frying pan "In case I meet Bad Men!" The frying pan was a constant source of amusement for the various characters. Tiana asked if she could borrow it, because sometimes Naveen can be quite naughty. K replied very seriously that "We don't REALLY hit people with frying pans, and also it's just plastic so it won't hurt him anyway." I thought she'd fall over.

First came dinner in the Castle, with Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel and Jasmine.

We got my FIL a "Grumpy by Choice" t-shirt, and Snow White insisted on a picture:

In addition to princess hunting, we rode Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Aladdin's Carpets, and BTMRR during the Party. And gathered candy. We were badly positioned for the parade, but had a good spot for the fireworks, which were just as wonderful as expected.

That's all I can do for now. Coming up - a rest/pool day, Epcot and AK!

Great pictures! There's nothing better than seeing a child's face light up , your daughter is adorable. I always loved the princess days.

Great TR and pics. I love GrandPa and Snow White, so cute.

How magical...Katherine has quite a future with Disney...I can see her being a Princess character actor there someday.

Love TRs. Sounds like a magical time already. Love your DDs response about the frying pan. Out of the mouth of babes. And a very creative touch to add to the costume. Grandpa and Snow White is priceless. Lol. Looking forward to the rest of the trip.

We had a bit of a sleep-in after staying up for MNSSHP - or at least the menfolk did! Katherine was up by 7:30, so she and I wandered down to breakfast at Trail's End (yummy! gotta love a place that serves bread pudding for breakfast!). We played on the climber, checked out the dock, visited the horses, then got some pool towels at the Meadows Trading Post and went back to the cabin to get changed to go swimming.

No pics from the pool, I'm afraid, but Katherine loved both the little splash area and the "BIG SLIDE" (I swear, every time she said it it came out in all caps). I snagged her a life vest from the bike barn and hung out on the pool steps while she went down the slide about 150 times.

After lunch and naps, we got in a little more pool time and then were off to Boma for dinner. AMAZING. I realize it's Americanized African food, but we all thought it was delicious and loved the different flavors and spices. And the glimpses of the animals on the savanna were a good precursor to the next day at AK. Starting with Donald's Safari Breakfast:

We got right on the safari after breakfast. It was so cool! And one young giraffe was RIGHT up next to the road.

That evening, we took some hot dogs and s'mores makings down to the Sing Along & Movie. So much fun!

Wednesday was relaxing - breakfast at Cat Cora's place on the Boardwalk, then into Epcot for more princess hunting. We bagged Belle, Mulan, and a Tink-in-training:

Dinner at Trail's End. Just as delicious as breakfast!

Thursday we were up and out early for an 8am breakfast at Akershus with Belle, Cinderella, Aurora, and Arielle. Epcot was pretty crowded, but we got to all of our "must-do's". After naps, we headed to 'Ohana for dinner. The food was tasty, but I could have done without the entertainment.

We split up again on Friday - DH and FIL wanted to tour the Fort (they were hoping for a golf cart, but settled for a bike for DH and FIL on his scooter), but Katherine and I headed back to MK. Splash Mountain, BTMRR (twice), Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Teacups, iasm (gharg!), and the Carousel (my favorite). We had so much fun together! The line to meet Alice was long and in the full sun, so we got a hot dog from Ray's and found a seat in the shade to people watch. Then Alice went right past us for a break, so we got a chance to say "How do you do!" as she went by.

We ended the day at DHS for Fantasmic. I had assumed that there was NO chance to get on TSMM, but as we were going in a woman asked if we could use fastpasses, as they had to leave unexpectedly. Pixie Dust!! pixiedust:

We had about an hour, so we went up the "left" side, hitting Star Tours and meeting Phineas & Ferb, then circling around for our FP window. What a fun ride! FIL had the highest score, then DH, then me. But I spent 1/2 my time trying to aim Katherine's shooter, so I could have done much better - really!!

Dinner at H&V - I know it gets very little love, but we had both lunch and dinner there and found it clean and tasty. Not fine dining, but we all enjoyed our meals. Fantasmic was lots of fun, and made a great "last night" experience for our trip.

So sad to pack up Saturday morning, but again Disney made it easy with checking our bags right at Outpost. The flights home were uneventful and now all we have to do is plan for our next trip. I think we'll be camping (tent), so that will put a whole new spin on the experience!

Thanks again for all the great advice!

Thank you for the wonderful trip report. Your little one is just adorable.princess:

It's so cute when children that age are really *into* the characters ::yes:: There was pure pleasure in your little girl's facial expressions! Our youngest son was really *into* castles and of course Princes and Princesses, so at four we took him to eat at (what was then) King Stefen's Banquet Hall and Cinderella came to our table and kissed him (left a big lip print on his cheek). I thought the poor little guy was going to swoon LOL. He left the *kiss* on all day ;). Jasmine's costume was almost rated "R" wasn't it? :)

Glad you had a great trip!

I'm late to this TR but I wanted to get in on it! :confused3

It is a special age now for your daughter to be meeting all those Disney CM princesses.

It was wonderful. Our next trip will be several years from now, and I expect by then the Princesses and other characters won't be seen as REALLY real anymore.

But that's okay - there's magic and pixie dust at every age.
