PrincessAriel09 & Toddzilla's First Ever DisDining Review! *Pizzafari-Toddzilla

Honey donuts with raspberry and vanilla dipping sauce:

Okay DBF and I COMPLETELY disagree on these. To me they were just donuts. I can eat donuts any time. In fact, now that I think of it, I have had some TimBits from Tim Horton's before that tasted remarkably similar! Of course, those didn't come with any fancy dipping sauces...:rotfl2:
Don't get me wrong, they were tasty just not as tasty to my palate as they were to DBF's. I love my dessert though-so maybe I was just looking forward to my old Disney favorites that were to come!

*i have to add something about DBF's zucchini cornbread. This stuff was manna from Heaven. I kid you not. He got maybe three bites out of it and then I was all over that stuff! It was SO good!!! Next time, I am getting this as an extra side! It was moist and full of flavor!

:littleangel:Bless DBF's heart, he has resorted to always ordering larger portions because it is a guarantee that I will love something on his plate and eat it too!

Everything sounds good so far, I always love a good dinning report!

I'm glad you guys liked Kouzzina. I wanted to- I really did... Until i got food poisoning there in November. Even so- i wanted to return to give it another shot, but every time I even read the menu now I get queasy.

mmmmm Yum! I haven't eaten at Kouzzina yet and now I may have to try it! I used to be a chef and have made lots of Greek food in my day. The cinnamon is a common ingredient in tomato sauce in that region of the world (Greece, Turkey etc...) The cinnamon lasagna was probably some take on Moussaka or Pastichio (this one's my FAV) I really wanna try that Pork Tenderloin though, looks delicious!

Its our ADR day on Monday and Kouzzina was the one I was still unsure about?

I was planning on eating around 5.30, same as you, due to us having children with us, I'm looking forward to it now since your review :)

Thank you :flower3:

Oh NO! What a bummer! :sad2: I am sorry that happened! I know I would probably feel the same way...

Interesting! I am actually not really into Greek food but I really enjoyed it! DBF is the more adventurous cook/eater! Thanks to the great experience at Kouzzina I will probably be more apt to try different Greek foods!

Great job !! Keep it coming!

We will! I hope to get a review done today! :cutie:

Oh GOOD! I am so glad! I really hope you enjoy it and it doesn't disappoint!!!:yay: I hope you do a review on it!!!

WOW! I feel like I haven't been on the Boards in awhile!!! :sad2:
I guess life just happened!!!

Let's get the morning kicked off with a review of Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom!

My preface... per usual:

We went to AK on our last in-park day at Disney. I have never been a HUGE AK fan-but it actually grew on me this time, I have always loved the Lion King show, and the Safari seemed more fun & I LOVED Everest. SO anyway, I had been indulging in sweets all week and I was DYING for some salad/veggies. That part of the food pyramid had been mysteriously missing from my week and my body KNEW it and was not happy. I remember telling Toddzilla, if I don't get some salad today it will not be pretty.

Our friends we were with had tried Pizzafari on a previous trip to AK and recommended that we all go there. Since we were on the DP, I was able to get;

1 personal cheese pizza
1 ceasar salad... HURRAH! :rotfl2:
1 beverage
1 chocolate dessert parfait

To me, that is a BIG meal! I would have totally shared with DBF, but he is always afraid there won't be enough

Here is an image I googled (credit goes to Disney Food Blog) of what the meal I had looked like (for portion purposes):

I was SO happy to have some salad, so that eclipsed the pizza by a long shot. It was basically just your run of the mill salad but it tasted so good to my veggie-deprived taste buds!

The personal pan pizza didn't blow me away with flavor, but it was decent and filling and reminiscent of the Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas I used to love. I did not eat all of mine, so I thought the portion size was great.

The chocolate parfait. Meh. I am not a HUGE chocolate person, I am more of a fruity girl so idk what possessed me to get it... I don't even really like choc. ice cream. I do like choc. cake though-but that's another story. The icing goop on top of the pudding stuff was WAY too rich-I scraped it off. But it's lovely that you get dessert with DP counter service meals!

first off congratulations on finishing the half marathon :thumbsup2 ... I don't think I could run that far if I was being chased, let alone of my own volition.

second, glad to see you enjoyed Koussina. We ate there our last trip and found it very underwhelming. It hadn't been open that long so perhaps it has improved.

... or perhaps our standards for an Iron Chef are too high ;)

Lastly, enjoying the reviews and really like the duel-action take!

I liked Kouzzina's and have an ADR there for September. But I see your whole fish does not have greens. It used to be served on a bed of wilted spinach. Are they not serving it that way anymore? The spinach would soak all the goodness of the fish and make it really tasty.

Great review and good to have you back :goodvibes

:flower3: Thanks as always Linda67!

:rotfl2: Thank you!!! I always tell people, the only reason/way I could do it was because it was Disney. Disney is the absolute best (okay-only...:lmao:) motivator for me! I really wish I would have committed to running when I came back but I had surgery right after and it's tough to get started again!!:sad2:

Uh oh another underwhelmed Kouzzina tryer! No way- I think if an Iron Chef puts their name on a restaurant it better be AWESOME! :) So you have every right to your high standards!

Lastly, enjoying the reviews and really like the duel-action take!

Thanks! I always enjoy reading Toddzilla's review after I post my own... we talk about our reactions to the meals and everything but don't go into depth so it's interesting to compare when he posts! :cutie:

Joining in...great start and can't wait for more yummy reviews.

Yay!!! Thanks for joining! So glad you liked our start! :cool1:

Hmmmm. The fish was served on sauteed veggies (think tomatoes, onions, and some peppers I believe). Spinach was absent from the palate. Also, I substituted the side dish that it came with for the garlic potatoes. Alas, I cannot remember what the original side was. Could it have been the time of year? We were there in late February...

Alright! its good to be back!!!! :thumbsup2 LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!! :woohoo:

Now i had the same meal as princess ariel but lets just say i wasn't quite as impressed. Lets start out with the good things though!! The quantity of food was very impressive, so if your super hungry and have the dining plan this might be the stop for you!

Now on to the actual food. To me, i thought the quality of the pizza was about the same(if not a little less) than pizza hut, and honestly I was expecting a little more. Now, maybe i just got one that wasn't as good as the rest, you never know, because everyone else we ate with loved it. For me, disney has some of the best food I have ever had, and this did not quite match up. Honestly if i had not been in disney, i probably would have loved this place, but because i was, i was probably expecting a little too much from it! :3dglasses lol

Now on to the salad and desert! The salad was actually really good, and the ranch was fantastic! and that is a lot from a ranch expert like myself! haha

The desert was fantastic as well! It was very rich and quite delicious. I would say the salad and desert made up for the pizza and made pizzafari a quite decent lunch!

So to sum it up! if you are hungry, and looking for a alright pizza then this is the place for you!!! If not, i would try to find something a little better!

untill next time, you stay classy Disney fans ;)
