I've just learned about this but know nothing about it. How does this compare with the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party, or the Cindy breakfast? Do you also book this through the DINE line? And...where does it take place?

Sorry for all the questions....thanks in advance!

DD4 and I went in August and it was great. The Princess Tea party is quite a bit more expensive than CRT and the WTP. The Princess Tea is $200 for one adult and one child. The WTP is about $30 per child. CRT is around $22 per adult and $12 per child. I was really disspointed by CRT - about 30 seconds with each character, $36 plus tip for the 2 of us for a that and a plate of breakfast food. It was definitely not worth the hype. The WTP is a kid only event. My DD had fun there.
The Princess Tea can be booked up to 90 days out and is at the Garden View Lounge at the GF. Rose Petal is the hostess and she sings songs and tells the story of Sleeping Beauty. The staff is attentive and wonderful and serves a nice spread of traditional tea foods. All the girls gather together and parade around the room to welcome Aurora. Aurora then visits for a few minutes with each girl. The girls get a bracelet, a My Disney Girl doll in an Aurora outfit, a tiara, a rose, and a scrapbooking kit. It was really great, a perfect mother-daughter outing for a little princess.

Thank you Julie! My daughters are six and almost eleven. Do you think the eleven year old would feel too old for this?

Thanks again!

Yes, I think the 11 year old would feel to old for this, but the 6 yr old would love it!! Maybe add the 11 year old as an additional adult. She wouldn't get the doll and stuff, but she would get to go. It is $65 to add an additional adult.

I think it depends on your 11 year old. Does she still like the princesses? My DD is 14 and we both love the princesses - we just got back and she HAD to have breakfast at CRT on her birthday. Anyway, she and I did the tea party when she was 12 (almost 13) back when it first started and the age limit was 12. Yes, she was the oldest one there, but it was the most special time we've ever spent together! We wore matching dresses (church type) and had the most wonderful time of our lives. We just regret that she's too old to do it again, so we'll just have to do the Garden Tea from now on. So in my opinion, if your DD loves princess stuff and tea parties, she'll love this!

I am so excited to attend this tea! I have a ressie for Jan 28th and when I made the ressie I was told that, at the time, this was the last scheduled date for the tea...that it may be discontinued. Have they decided to add more dates?

As of now, it is permanent...WooHoo!!!!!

My daughter just turned three. Is this too much for her, or geared toward little girls?

badmama 3 (cute name!) -

My mom and I took my two DDs on our Nov. 2004 trip to celebrate DD's 5th birthday. My other DD is 2.5 (but an OLD 2.5 with an older sister and already very into princesses - believes she IS Ariel and Pocohantas). We went ahead and paid for DD 2.5 as a child so that she would receive the doll, crown, etc., and the same treatment as her older sister.

The Tea Party is truly beautiful. The actors are wonderful. It is entertaining and a very memorable event. Great photo op. That being said, my mom is an early childhood college professor. We both agreed that it really was probably best geared for the more mature 4 year old (probably 5 year old) to 8 or 9 year old set. My 5 year old loved the whole thing. My almost 3 year old enjoyed it for awhile but became somewhat bored and we ended up leaving a little early.

I'm not telling you this to dissuade you from going. If the money is no object, by all means do it. Just keep your expectations realistic that a 3 year old may not be completely interested in the whole "experience" although she may enjoy parts of it. I think I expected too much and was a little let down (my fault, not Disney's).

Overall, for a 3 year old, I would choose CRT or PSB, hands down - MUCH less expensive (we paid $400 for the 4 of us), better for their attention spans and more princesses but that's JMHO!

Have fun!!! :D

Oops - I meant to answer the additional child ? also. I believe it is $135 per child and $65 per adult (prices may have changed). Hope this helps!

We also took my dd when she was 2 weeks shy of turning three. She LOVED it!! She lasted the WHOLE party, and was SO sad to leave. She didn't like the food, but realistically...even if she had, she was just too excited to eat.

Within 30 minutes of leaving the party, she asked when we could go back. We were there the 2nd week of December, and I had made her a dress that looked like Aurora's. She is STILL talking about that tea party, and last night before she went to sleep she said, "Mom, I have to tell you a secret (something she does a LOT!! LOL). You have to make me a Cinderella dress so I can have tea with Cinderella, too." So, now I guess I am sewing Cinderella, too...she only has about 20 princess dresses in her closet. But, I guess she thinks Mom has to MAKE one to have tea with a princess!!

Anyway, my point is that she was not yet three...and this made more of an impression than ANYTHING else we did at the park!!! And, my dd has always been "behind" in what the "books" say your child should be "achieving" at certain ages. She is a smart kid, but due to many illnesses...she's behind. (We had her in developmental therapy at 18 months, and on her second b-day she was COMPLETELY non-verbal). What I am trying to say is...I don't think your dd has to be "gifted" or "advanced" to enjoy the tea party at 3...my dd is just an average "almost" 3 year-old who LOVED the whole experience!!

But, I would definitely caution for older girls, unless they are happy sitting on the sides and watching. Maybe it was just our particular party, but the oldest girl in our party was around 6. Since the girls hold hands and "dance" around the room in a group, I would think a lot of 11 year old girls would feel awkward in this situation. I'm certainly not saying ALL. I know a few 16 yr olds who would LOVE this party (of course, I teach acting and the all want to go to WDW and work as princesses)!!! But, there is an age where it is not "cool" to sit on Santa's lap for a pic., and then there is an age where it becomes cool again...and, everyone reaches that age differently. I would just caution any 11 yr old that they might be the oldest kid by 5 years or so, and definitely encourage the "Mom and daughter" bonding time.

I'd say, decide whether or not your kids will like this on your kids as individuals. My dd was GREAT at the party (when she was 2)...and, I just KNEW she would be. The earlier poster had an 11 yr old who LOVED it...I'm sure that came as no surprise either.

This is one of the BEST things I have ever done at WDW!! I'm so glad it is now a permanent fixture, and I think we will do it every December until my dd tires of it..it is just so cute!!!!
