Are the princesses at dinner at the Storybook dining? I only read about people attending the b-fast and lunch!

There are usually 5 princesses at Akershus for dinner. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, Belle was the greeter. Cinderella, Alice, Aurora and Snow White came by the tables.

ChelleinNC - Did you feel rushed? Did the princesses give your table sufficient attention to warrant the price? And how was the dinner food?

I didn't feel rushed. We were a few minutes late for our ADR, but our kids were there on time. They tried to check us in but were told they couldn't until we were all there. Once we got there and checked in we waited around 15 minutes till they called us to the other line. Then they send one family in at a time. You meet the Princess that is greeting and they take the picture. You're then led to your table.

The princesses seemed to stay at each table as long as they needed to. We weren't there for the princesses, but got a picture of DD14 with each one and a pic of DS11 with Cindy (because he wanted nothing to do with this  ). DH had loved dinner there years ago (before it was a princess meal) and really wanted to go back. The food was good, service was pretty good but very slow. Our waiter kept disappearing, we ordered coffee to go with our dessert and never got it. By that time we just wanted to get out of there. As I said, the food was good but honestly we spent a little less the night before for the 4 of us at Hollywood Brown Derby. At BD we had an appy for 2, 2 cocktails, 2 sodas, 4 meals, 4 desserts and 2 coffees. I would pick the 4/5 star restaurant and it's service over the princess meal any day.

If you're going to see the princesses and/or on the DDP, it's a good choice and better value.

HTH :goodvibes

Thanks for all the info ChelleinNC! Actually we are paying OOP and we already have CRT booked so we will see the princesses later in our trip. But my parents are coming for the beginning of the trip and I wanted to schedule something fun at EPCOT with them. I know they would love to see the girls interact with the characters at a character meal. I have Garden Grill booked but the reviews are so mixed and the bad reviews are REALLY bad. I may scrap both meals and just book a French dinner!

I can say that we've had very good meals with great character interaction at Garden Grill. We've also had a great meal at Les Chefs de France :goodvibes

We took my dad & stepmom to GG with us last year and they really did enjoy the character interaction with the kids (and with them--Pluto seemed to really like my stepmom:laughing: ) :thumbsup2

That's really what I want them to see. We have some decent ADRs at more adult restaurants while my parents are in town so if the GG does provide good character interaction then I may go ahead and keep it. What did you think of the food?

Food at GG was good. Kids ate mostly the chicken tenders and mac & cheese. The turkey & flank steak were really good. DH liked the catfish (I don't eat catfish) The veggies were all good and fresh from the Land. All in all a good meal :goodvibes

We had breakfast there - and the atmosphere was lovely! The princesses were charming and not in any hurry at all to go from table to table. They stayed at each table as long as needed to sign books, hug and pose for pictures. We didn't feel rushed during our meal either - we took our time and had a nice meal. We are going back on our next trip!

Each princess spent plenty of time at our table taking photos with my daughter. My daughter was in heaven. Daddy thought about asking to get his photo with Sleeping Beauty but then realized he is 20 years older than she is...

We were there a few weeks ago for dinner & it was FABULOUS! Belle was the greeter & the other Princesses that were there were Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora, & Jasmine. I've read things that have said Cinderella doesn't appear there, but she was there that day! They were all totally in character & spent plenty of time at the tables. If you have a little girl who loves the princesses, do this...it is SO WORTH it! Our tab was about $75 for the two of us---worth every penny.
The food was very good in my opinion... for starters, there's a salad-type bar w/ a big variety of things & then you order your entree off the menu. There were some odd selections but I'm a picky eater, so I chose the Pasta Akershus, which was like a veggie-filled ravioli in a white creamy sauce---very, very good.
If i remember correctly, the kids menu had typical kids menu selections...my daughter chose pizza. The portions were HUGE! They choose your dessert, which is shared, but it is HUGE. Ours had 3 different things on it.
Don't forget...you also get the free photos w/ the package, which they take before they seat you. They have one of the princesses (ours was Belle) in a certain photo area where they do this. The package had an 8x10 & 4 -4x6, or 3x5's (don't know which) Other than that, the Princeses come to your table, one by one after dinner & that's when you can do your autographs, photos & video. We LOVED LOVED it!

My dad and I eat there every year for his birthday, and the food is great. We've never felt rushed being just adults. In previous years we've done dinner, but this year we're going to be doing lunch. The menu is the same, and so we plan it how if fits the schedule better.
