Princess Peanut's WISH Trip CWF/GKTW Pre-Trip Report! *We're HOME - Pg.37*

Yah for more big gives that will help you pass some time in the hospital :cloud9:
I am so sorry about the weight loss. Hope she can get a Mic-Key we loved Avy's. I hope she is not in to much pain when they do it. I has to hurt because Avy complained when they did it to her and she never complains :sad1:

Have fun playing on the I-pad my kids love mine :rolleyes1

She'll be asleep when they do everything, so she won't feel anything during the procedure - thank goodness. Last time, she was very uncomfortable for days after, when they dilated her from a 10 to a 12. Now they are going from a 12 to a 14. I just hope the TPN works magic for her (like it always has), and we get some much needed weight gain. I'll take anything at this point. :rolleyes1 I'm glad to hear the iPad is a hit with your kids, i'm sure Peanut will be all over it. Then when she goes to bed, its all mine.

will keep Peanut in our prayers that everything goes as planned and that she gets her Mic-Key port....maybe we can rename it for her Min-Nie!

Yay the pixie dust worked!! so happy it finally got there! dang slow ponies ...
hope the kids enjoy the gifts! tell peanut sorry about not putting Minnie on the box....will make sure Minnie sends the postcard though! and I will also tell Minnie that Peanut is excited to meet her!

take care of yourself this week too, sending lots of extra :wizard::goodvibes:hug: to cover you while we are gone!

heehee, min-nie. Too cute. ::MinnieMo I'll have to tell her that after she gets it. Yes, those ponies finally decided to ask directions, they must be male. ;) No need to appologize, her reaction was too funny when she realized there were no Minnies. You would have laughed to see her facial expression and the tone of her voice.

Good thoughts to you for a safe, amazing trip, full of many new and wonderful memories and traditions for you and Megan.:cloud9::wizard:

Can't wait to see the photos when we get back! she's just too dang cute :cutie:

yah, the ponies must of been males :lmao: just glad it finally got there!

thanks for our well wishes too:goodvibes

ooooooh I know who one of those packages is from :)

Alright, our 2 Big Gives were BIG hits!!! Thanks to Lisa & Megan (Dis - mommy2mrb), and Emma (Dis - Petals). The kids loved opening them, and were very excited. :yay:

Lisa & Megan, sent along a Disney gift card and lots of fun stuff to play with - Princesses and Toy Story stuff. The kids wanted to play with it all right away, but we tucked it all away for them to have on the plane. Such cute stuff. Thank you, Lisa & Megan. :goodvibes

Emma, sent along a Tink shirt for Peanut and a Toy Story short for Monkey, both long sleeve which will be great for cool nights. They wanted to wear them right away, lol. She also sent along some silly banz - which they loved trying to figure out what each one was (it was farm animals), and a cute pair of tights for Peanut (that match her tink shirt). Adorable stuff! Thank you, Emma. :upsidedow

Thank you both SO much. They were a huge hit, and a definite lift to our day. Thank you both for having such big hearts. Big big   to you both.

Argh, I was trying to update on day 2 in the hospital, and it's just too hard on the iPod. I'll try and update soon, but it's been an awful day. :sad2:

Ohh no
I am so sorry she is suffering right now. I am thankful she was in the hospital at the time.
Hope tomorrow is a smooth one and things go well on monday.
Avy was awake when they did hers and they didn't give her any pain meds :headache:
Her tube fell out overnight so we had to stretch her from a 10 to a 14. Talk about screaming. She was in pain for days I could tell :sad1:

How are you liking the I-pad?

I aam so sorry that you are going through this...I know all to well how weight is so important. We have been going through this for 3 years in and out of the hospital to address this very thing. Needless to say that every ounce gained or lost just sends me into a tizzy!! (My Eva is 3 she is 34 inches tall and weighs only 24 1/2 lbs) My DD has the Mic-Key and I love it...It is better for dear Eva who has dislodged every tube ever inserted into her, including her G/J tube:eek:

I pray that things go smoothly and Peanut is back to herself very soon!! I will also keep you in prayer because I know all too well how hard it is to be away from home....try to take a few minutes of the day just for YOU!!! Momma needs to be at her best too!!

I just want to send you some :hug::hug: I hope things start get easier for the hospital stay. I will be thinking of Peanut and your family.

Good to hear that the Big Gives brought your kids some much-deserved sunshine! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear that you guys are having such a rough time of it. Here's hoping the procedure goes smoothly and Peanut doesn't suffer too much pain--and that she gains some weight!

Thinking of you guys....:flower3:

:grouphug: I'm so srry that your time in the hospital has been so hard. I'll be praying that things get easier and Peanut is as comfortable as possible for the remainder of your stay.

No bothers :) Glad they liked them :)

Update first!! :upsidedow

Yesterday (Saturday) was horrible. Peanuts gj-tube came out and after it was put back in (in the end, it was in the wrong spot), it broke in half - yes, her tube broke in half. The only thing keeping it attached, was is the internal thread. So bile was leaking out, for hours. In the end, they had to monkey rig it, just to keep the bile from leaking out. It can't be used. So no feeds, and most of her meds she can't get. 2 of them she already took orally, and one of them she has to (it was normally given through her tube) take orally as its an antibiotic (which she hates). The rest have been discontinue until her tube is replace (meds she needs, I should add). We are hoping they will dilate her tract and replace the tube tomorrow (Monday). We'll find out in the morning - fingers crossed. She was in SO much pain when the tube came out, and when they were pushing it back in. It was so hard to see. She was so uncomfortable the rest of the day because of how much manipulating of the tube they had to do, and because of how its curled inside of her. :sad1: They are also having trouble with her blood sugar, as it keeps dropping too low. Juice is helping as a temporary measure, but they are adding more dextrose to her TPN today to try and regulate it. They also took off her stat lock today that holds her gj-tube in place (she was reacting so badly to it, and since its not being used they can get away with some tape to hold it in place), and her stomach is just torn up. :sad2: She is SO itchy and sore, its fire red. So they started her on a topical steroid to try and clear it up, but man. The poor thing cannot catch a break. Thus far, she has gained nothing. Which is utterly frustrating. We are hoping the new week, brings some progress and comfort for Peanut. She is really having a tough time in isolation, so the sooner we can get things on track, the sooner we can get her home.

Thank you.

No ipad. :( We are making due but I can't really post from my ipod or phone, its just too hard. I can read, but even then its a little difficult. So I just don't. :rolleyes1

Before I forget, YAY on getting some dates. When will you find out if they are confirmed? Have you said anything to the kids? I'm SO excited for you guys. :yay:

I can't believe they didn't give Avy anything. Its shocking. Does she had a g-tube, or a gj-tube? I know with a gj-tube, its more of a complicated process to get it in place (it goes in the jejenum rather then the stomach), but still. I would think dilating and changing out tubes is not the most comfortable thing. Peanuts Dr refuses to let it get done unless they medicate her first. I'm sorry Avy had to go through that. It makes me sad that they hurt her like that. :sad2:

We were originally told that we were unable to get a mic-key for Peanut as they couldn't get one smaller then a 16. Who knows if its hospital issues, or what, but ours claims they can get it. They could get it in a 12 (which is currently the size of Peanuts tract), but 14 would be best, so they are going to dilate her up. I guess it all remains to be seen when she gets the procedure done. I really hope we have luck with the mic-key, her body is just so sensitive to most tapes and having them on there so much - or simply just changing them so frequently, it just tears up her poor belly.

Thank you for the prayers and thoughts. Its just so draining for everyone having her in the hospital. She needs this though, so we will endure it with her and for her.

I just want to send you some  I hope things start get easier for the hospital stay. I will be thinking of Peanut and your family.

Thank you, it means a lot.

Yes, it certainly did. They love getting mail, they must take after me. lol. And thank you for your kind words. We are all hoping the same thing you are.

Thank you for your kind words. I hope things start to get easier too, its hard to be so strong for your child, when you are utterly frustrated. We aren't frustrated at anyone, just the situation.

No bothers. Glad they liked them :)

YES YES YES, THANK YOU!!! :yay::cool1::goodvibes:cheer2:

Fingers crossed they can get the Mic-key in tomorrow. I loved Avy's she only had a G-tube. She had a size 14 the whole time. We got her Mic-key in 3 days after we got her.
I am so sorry peanut is in so much pain and them messing with it tomorrow is going to make it worse. Praying they can get the meds she needs in asap.

I think those will be our dates they are just looking for flights. ;)

Saying prayers that everything goes well. It breaks my heart to hear she is hurting .I say a prayer for you guys everyday hoping things will get easier for her so she can enjoy her trip.:grouphug::wizard::wizard::wizard:princess:princess:princess:princess:

Oh! Sounds like a terrible day! Poor Peanut. I hate to hear that she was in so much pain and discomfoft. :( Hoping today is a better day!

I'm so sorry she is in pain and discomfort. She has been through enough, I hope they can get this under control soon!

Have they thought about using a AMT Mini button? I'm not sure where the complications are withall of this, but we changed from a Mic-Key to a Mini (Yes, Mickey to a Minnie LOL) because it is a much lower profile on her stomach and inside the stomach (more elliptical than round bubble).

Hoping today goes better!

Update first!! :upsidedow I came home to shower and have a bit of a break with Monkey (who is napping right now), and Dadda took over hospital duty for a bit. So I am here to give a mini update. :goodvibes

GOOD NEWS: All went well yesterday with the procedure, and the best news is that Peanut got her MIC-KEY!! Or Mini Tubie Mic-Key as she calls it. The procedure was tough, they had quite a hard time getting it in, and there was a lot of pushing and tugging, but its in. She is VERY uncomfortable today, and was last night when all the meds wore off. Her Dr said each day should get better, but that she will be sore for a few days. They restarted her meds and feeds last night, so that is good. But today, they decided to change one of her meds to something else, and they are also changing her formula - 3rd time now. Fingers crossed this new one works, and that she can get more comfort with her feeds. She just gets SO bloated and distended with her feeds, and with her tube going in to her jejenum, it makes it more complicated to solve these issues. So we are hoping the new formula will be easier on her. She has FINALLY started gaining weight with the TPN. AMAZING!!!:cool1::woohoo: It only took 5 days. :rolleyes1

BAD NEWS: They are keeping her at least another week, so the soonest she'll be home is April 8th. :sad2:

GOOD NEWS: We got THREE Big Gives in the mail today, so i'll take them back to the hospital later on and have the kids open them. :cool1:

So exciting, I really hope the dates pan out. :cool1: Does Avy have her feeding tube still?

Saying prayers that everything goes well. It breaks my heart to hear she is hurting .I say a prayer for you guys everyday hoping things will get easier for her so she can enjoy her trip.:grouphug::wizard::wizard::wizard:princess:princess:princess:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Oh! Sounds like a terrible day! Poor Peanut. I hate to hear that she was in so much pain and discomfoft. :( Hoping today is a better day!

Thank you, it was definitely a hard weekend. Shes still in pain, but we are hoping things get better every day.

I have never heard of an AMT Mini button. I'll have to look it up. Its funny because to me, the mic-key button looks so big on her. But I think its just because of her size. The mic-key definitely isn't as flush to her skin as I thought it would be, but its definitely a huge improvement over the tail hanging out like with her old gj-tube. Thanks for the good thoughts.

Been Praying for her and you all day. Hope she got her Mic-key in and she is pain free

I updated above. Thank you for your sweet thoughts.

Such good news that things are going better, and now I will be praying for improving comfort for Peanut.

So glad to see that the Big Gives are finally arriving and hope that they will bring a smile to Peanut. It sounds like she could use some cheering up, but at least it looks like things are going in the right direction now.

YAHHHH for the Mic-key :cool1:
Avy had hers out at age 7

WooHoo for weight gain :dance3:

Boohoo about staying a extra week and the pain she is in. Hope she feels better soon.

popcorn::Can't wait to see all the Big Gives popcorn::

I'm so glad the Mic-key is finally in and I'm thrilled to hear that Peanut is gaining weight :cheer2: I'm very sad that her hospital stay was extended, but in the long run if the feedings work well and Peanut continues to put on weight it may very well be worth it.

And I'm also really pleased to see more BG's making it your way, especially since one is from me and now I know it made it safely. Warning though: items may be very wrinkled since they were crammed in a tiny envelope for three weeks!

Hopefully the BG's will help put a nice, refreshed smile on Peanuts face. I really feel for her and she is going through. I keep checking for your updates because I really do care.
