I did a craft or activity for each of the 6 main princesses:
Snow White - Pass the parcel: bought jewels (with sticky backs) from Oriental Trading Co. and put them in little fabric bags. I wrapped one bag in princess paper then put another bag of jewels on top of the present and wrapped that in princess paper, then put another bag on top and wrapped that in princess paper, etc. until all 10 bags of jewels were wrapped individually in one large present. I told the girls that the dwarfs had left gifts for them in the present. I played music from Snow White, and the girls passed the package. When the music stopped, whoever had the package opened it and found a bag of jewels. This continued until everyone had a bag.
Sleeping Beauty - Decorate Tiaras: The girls used the jewels to decorate foam tiaras.
Jasmine - Magic Carpet Relay: Bought cheap placemats and two Jasmine Barbies from the dollar store. The girls took turns running across the grass holding their placemat/magic carpet with Jasmine on top.
Ariel - Fishing for Dinglehoppers: put paper clips on plastic forks and dropped them in a tub of water. Got some cheap magnetic fishing poles and they took turns fishing for Dinglehoppers (I explained what the those were prior to the game).
Belle - Bookmarks: Got foam bookmarks and sticky foam decorations and they made their own bookmarks
Cinderella - Freeze dancing at the ball. I gave each girl a goody bag with a necklace, ring, mirror, and comb, and silk rose and sent them to my DD's room with my mother (the fairy godmother) to get ready for the ball. Each girl was then announced ("introducing princess so and so") and each walked into the ball (living room) wearing their tiara, jewelry, and holding their rose. (Good photo op!) Then we played music from Cinderella. First they all danced normally. Then I put on a faster freeze dance song.
I found stamps of each princess so after each activity the girls got a stamp on their hand of the appropriate princess.
I played appropriate princess music at each activity.
I also made coloring books with a pic of each princess (got them from the disney website).
It was a great party.
I got most of the these ideas from
www.birthdaypartyideas.com. As a PP said, it's a great site!
Good luck with yours and happy birthday to your DD!.
