Princess Mya's MAW Trip Report: First Day and Going Away Party Posted 3/6/09

So today we received a wonderful gift from the Turner Castle on the far East Coast. I will let the pictures tell the story...

After bath she wanted to put back on the jacket and sleep in it. So instead it has taken the place of her sleeping bear and is curled up tightly next to her this evening.

Hi MacIntosh family!! I'm Sally from the Turner Castle. I wanted to check in and make sure the Mya got her package. I always worry about the Post Office falling down on the job. Not that we've ever seen that happen before! Glad that the Jacket fit Mya. It looks perfect. Sleeping in it is a sure sign that she likes it!

Can't wait to hear what else she and Aiden get and later on the trip report. You guys will have an amazing time. Kirsta and I are jealous. We can't wait to go back.

She wore it to school today and all the kids loved it. You ever think of doing this for donations like a silent auction? She has one coming up for her school and they are looking for donations. It seems our Superintendent misplaced a few hundred million dollars and had to cut back a lot of teachers and programs. Her school lost it's outdoor science garden teacher and is raising it's own funds to hire him back.

I would be willing to purchase it to donate to the school. You can let me know via PM if you like.

Well we got word from our MAW volunteers and they are planning a party for Mya next Sunday. It will be at a place called the Purple Glaze. They know she enjoys the arts and wanted to hold it a place that would acomidate that. This is one of those places that allows you to paint pottery that they will fire and return. I think she will be inviting seven friends to share with her this experience.

We are a little sad though about missing a different experience: our chapter is hosting an Art Party at the Wish office the day we leave. They are doing art work based on their favorite Disney moment, how crazy that is. They are going to provide Mya with some of the items upon her return, so we will get back and have lot's of moments to share, but missed the fun of being able to decorate with others. We are really looking forward to meeting other wish kids both here and in Orlando.

I was thinking about using hers as a sample and then letting the winner choose the size. Thought more bidding that way and thus more money. Think that is a wise idea? The auction is in Early April.

I am so sorry, we did get your package while we didn't have a camera. My wife took the shirts and put them in the suitcase imeadiatly and I forgot they were there. Thank you very much! They are great and Aidan's being so small is quite cute. We all tried them on the day we received them and they fit well.

I will post a picture of us wearing them at the park if that's OK instead of going back through what she has already packed.

As for the art party at MAW, I know! I thought about ya'll when we got the invite and was excited to maybe meet ya'll finally! Then I realized it was during your trip. Oh well! You'll be having so much more fun on the trip!!!!!! One of these days we'll meet up!!!!!

We couldn't make Mya wait last night, for her brother to open the package. Mya started last night already writing in hers, not sure she got the whole idea down that it was for other people to sign. Guess she is already working on that Rock Star persona.

I'm so glad Mya liked the autograph books!! I forgot to add a little note to let you know that my husband joined in on this give. He paints cars and he offered to paint the books with car paint. So, he painted them, the kids and I added stickers, and then he put a coat of clear over them. So, it was a family project.

Don't worry, there is no lead in car paint (we checked just to be sure)!

Is it just me or are more people recognizing the Deaf Community. I was just watching the Disney Channel and they were just doing sign language on Teach My Alligator Manners.

Now it is time to give credit to those that made these wonderful outfits. In no particular order I will give descriptions. This first outfit was created by Mommyof2princesses. It hit the spot with Mya as it had that lovable rockstar on it Hannah (I can't get enough) Montana. It also had included a wonderful hair piece that will go real well with another gift she received in another posting. So once again here are the pictures if you didn't see them earlier.

This outfit she really loved and as you can see hugged it over and over. It fit perfectly, you seemsters are amazing, really are!

The following gift was created by Tinka_Bella and it is amazing and fits both of them so well. Mya ended up wearing the dress all day long and Aidan looked just like Super Baby in his. I can't wait for them to wear these on the trip, I can just imagine how many compliments we will receive. We have a perfect red t-shirt to go under his outfit, as I buy him a lot of red and blue. We really do push that whole superman thing with him. Maybe that is what I will do his cake as in Early March for big number Two!

This package arrived yesterday before work and I didn't have time to change him and take pictures and post, so I chose to open, take pictures and post. We will get photo's of him in it later, but it looks to fit perfectly when held up to him and it's really cute!

Mya enjoyed opening the package for him and then reading him the card. This gift was created by revrob and is really fun. It has Wall-E on the shirt and then and applique of Wall-E and Eve on each individual leg. It looks to be really comfortable and I'm sure will draw lots of attention at the parks.

Aidan is also wearing what I think will become my favorite shirt for him. It features an Old Chinese Monkey King. As I child I always enjoyed the stories of this mystical creature when I was a kid and lived in Hong Kong. When I saw this shirt at shirt.woot.com, I had to buy one for both he and I. He also has a thing for his pet monkey, which is his favorite stuffed animal.

So is this when it starts becoming more real?

We have Party tomorrow at Purple Glaze and then I have to Close. I work a really weird schedule this week, but at least have a few hours off on Friday Evening to get everything in order.

I dealt with a Stomach Virus all week and the kids have head colds. I feel like Noah's family. A big bubble for all of us!
