Has anyone done it? For me and my two daughters and my mom it would equal $400. Is it worth it? I know about the dolls and bracelets and "personal attention", but is it worth it? Any help would be appreciated as I am a week away from my 90-day window. :grouphug:

I did the regular tea wiht my mom but one day when we arrived early we saw the little princess tea. It was amazing Princess Aurora was there with Rose. They were reading stories and taking oics with teh kids. The kids were eating pastries and tea and rose petals were all over the floor appraently they throw them in from the as little girls when they come in. It is expensive 200 per kid i guess but it did look amazing.

How long?

Are they still doing the Princess Tea? Everything that I have seen just states that it has extended through January. Any later dates?

I will be doing the tea party on Jan 28th (Friday) with my DD6. When I made the PS for it (you have to pay in full in advance, BTW) she told me that was actually the very last day it was being held...there were none scheduled after that date. Since then, though, I have seen on this board that they extended it.

If you go to allearsnet.com you will find lots of reviews...people just RAVE about it and say it is worth it. I only have one DD...can't say I would go if I had more!

I am very excited about it and I will pst my review when I get back!

I did the tea in August with DD4. It was awesome. I thought it was more than worth the cost. If you are going thinking the price justifies the stuff you get, you'll be disappointed. The bracelet, tiara, doll etc are nice, but not worth $200. What you are paying for is the whole experience. Rose Petal, the hostess/storyteller does a wonderful job. She tells her story and ties it in with the story of Sleeping Beauty. She leads the girls around in a parade and then Aurora appears. Each girl gets to spend a few minutes with Aurora. The food is really good and the rest of the staff is great. There is also a musician who will play requests from the girls. It was really great.

My daughter has done all of the Grand Floridian’s children’s activities. She loves 'em all. When she did the My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party, I added her comments to my trip report. You can read all about the event through her eyes if you click on the following link:

My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party (look for the post entitled, “Grand Floridian Day Two, Part 1”)

There is a link in that post to my photos of the event.

Janet-Thanks SO much for those pictures! I got a tear in my eye looking at them! I am so looking forward to my visit with my DD.

I took DD (8) in December and can attest to the fact that it is worth the money! Check out my signature pic princess: My daughter also loves music and loved the Rose Petal character who is wonderful and sings several songs. Rose Petal is the best part of the Tea, IMO. Seeing Aurora is great too but Rose Petal is/should be the star!
The tea service is awesome! The doll is much cuter than I anticipated. DD's fit right in w/ her American Girl dolls :flower1:

Make sure your little girls dress up!!

I asked about the dates when I booked WL Concierge and the CM told me it HAS been extended and would be available during my dates there (thru the Tuesday after Easter 2005)
Good Luck!

Do hope WDW decides to keep the Princess Tea! We are going in May and would very much like to attend!
Janet2k-Thanks so much for posting your pictures, they are wonderful! And what a pretty princess your daughter is!
johnsonet-Your daughter too makes a pretty princess! Thanks for posting your picture!

For quite a few years, I did not post photos of my family or guests. That had to change after my October/November 2003 trip. It became impossible for me to share vacation experiences without meaningful photos (that is, photos with my family's faces in them).

Yesterday, as I removed photos with intentionally blurred faces and replaced them with the original photos (for example, a few photos in the My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party album), a flood of memories came rushing back. When I eventually made my way to the Wonderland Tea Party album, I ran across a photo with my young daughter in it. I never told anyone that the little girl in the photo was my daughter, but someone here on the Dis figured it out and stopped us during one of our vacations. It was a little unnerving to be recognized, but the Dis’er was kind.

I never wanted anyone to recognize us. We prefer to remain in the background with the limelight being shown on the experiences that we are sharing with my words here on the Dis (for example, the Wonderland Tea Party, the Pirates Cruise, and so on). It is really hard for me to share a lot of the things that I do simply because I am a pretty private person. But I know that a lot of the things that I do share prove useful to others who are planning their own vacations, and thus I continue to share our experiences.

I am happy that the photos that I fixed up yesterday and shared here with you today came in handy. That makes everything worthwhile. Thanks for letting me know that. I sincerely appreciated that.

Janet

DH & I took DD7 in Dec. Spending that much money was a very difficult decision for us, as was deciding whether DH would attend. DD adores Aurora, and the tea party was the highlight of her trip, so I'm very glad DH was able to share this with us too.

I took my DD4 over the Christmas season and we had a lovely time. I got teary eyed at the actual tea party! The doll, bracelet and tiara were lovely. My daughter loved straining her tea. I thought it was worth every penny. If you go into any of the Walt Dsiney World shops you can buy the doll which retails for $45 and the outfit is $25. The bracelet and tiara are valued at maybe $10 (just guessing). That right there adds up to $80. That breaks it down to about $60 a person. The Hoop Dee Doo is $50 per person so if you don't mind paying for that and you think it is worth it then this is comparative in price and much more memorable! I did it just as much for me as I did for my DD. I'm sure I enjoyed it as much if not more than she did!! If you like leaving reality for awhile and totally submerging yourself in being a mother of daughter I say GO FOR IT!!!
Make sure to bring some extra money for the charms they offer upstairs in the shop where you pick up the doll's birth certificate. To make the memory extra special I let my daughter pick out a few. They also have extra outfits for sale there. My daughter got the Cinderella.

Have fun!!

cstraub-Thanks! I am going to the tea party on Friday! I just KNOW I will get teary eyed! I am SOOOO excited I cannot tell you! :Pinkbounc

janet2k-Thank you once again for sharing the photos. It really is special and means alot for people like me trying to plan a great vacation with lots of Disney magic!

I am just starting to plan a "Mom & Me" trip for my daughter and I, hopefully in July. I had thought about doing the Tea Party last July, then changed my mind. Thought about it again for our trip in Dec, and again, changed my mind. If it is extended through the summer, I am going to make a PS for us!!!

Janet2k - thanks for sharing your pictures! It looks like yall had a great time! My daughter really enjoyed seeing the pics too!!!

Is it worth it for an 8year old. I am trying to figure if my daughter would still be awed by it or just okay'd by it.

I'm going in July too! How or when can we find out if they will still have it??

Janet2K, I'll check out your pics later when DD isn't sitting here next to me (want it to be a surprise if I can pull it off!) :cool1:

I think it is worth it for an 8 year old!! I took my 4 yr old and 8 yr old in August. My 8 yr old was kind of on the fence about going. SHE LOVED IT!! I actually think it awed her more than my younger one. She really enjoys performing arts (plays piano, sings in chorus, taps etc.) and the performances by Baron Branch and Rose Petal were just outstanding. She was enthralled. My 4 yr old liked it - more for the gifts and seeing Aurora. If your little girl likes performing arts or is a girly girl, I really think it is neat for that age. I thought it was expensive myself when I booked it - but I was so pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it a whole lot - and to see the look on my girls faces across the table from me was priceless. They were just spellbound!

I just think this is one of the neatest things we ever did at WDW. Hope you all enjoy it, too!!

Thanks for all the replies...as I am officially in my 90 day window now, just deciding still if I should go...a lot of money is involved. If I do go, it would be me, my dd's (5,8) and my mom. It does look special, and since the DH and my dad are doing Richard Petty...why not?? princess:

So glad we have a search feature on the DIS. I was about to ask the same question!

Thanks for all the positive reviews. Janet2K, thanks so much for sharing your photos! I think they will help me "sell" DH on the idea of spending that kind of money.

Going to WDW alone with Mommy is DD's request for her 5th birthday, but I was looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to make it even more special. I think this will fit the bill.

I was a little concerned about the cost, but I like the fact that she will have a doll to take home when it's all over. I had wanted her to have a tangible birthday present as well as "just" the trip, and I think the doll will be perfect for her. (Not to mention the fact that I won't have to hide any birthday presents in the suitcase!)

Do you think they would do anything extra if there's a birthday girl in attendance? Her actual birthday is on Saturday, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Would you recommend going on Friday (the day we check in) or Sunday instead? If we do it first, will the rest of the long weekend be a disappointment by comparison, or would the tea party set the tone for our girls-only trip? We'll be driving through the night, so I'm not sure if we'll be fresh enough to go on Friday.

How is the food for the adults? I'm a little picky and don't like mayo-based sandwiches. Can I request something different?
