Hi! This is my first post (so excited). We're in the planning stages for a trip in May. My DD turns 6 on the 5th and I would love to have a Princess character meal for her. While lurking through here I realize Breakfast is probably the best time as I can't swing $250 for Dinner at the Castle (YIKES). I keep seeing mention that there are a few different Princess places but I can't narrow down what restaurants they are and with which Princesses. Can someone please share any info about the Princess Character meals? I think this might be the only Character meal I can get DH to agree to since it's her birthday. (I might try to squeeze in Chef Mickey's too - shhhhhh don't tell) :rolleyes1

Also any tips on getting in to see Fairies or Princesses in the parks? (where they are, best times, etc.)

This is my first trip and I am so excited. Still haven't decided if we're telling the kids yet or not. :woohoo:

Norway in Epcot is our favorite princess meal. You get to see the most princesses
and the breakfast is one of the best ever in Disney! We make sure to go there every
year for the food - the princesses are just a bonus!

We (DD 2.5 & 6) eat at the Princess Breakfast @ Epcot every trip (Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - Norway). My girls love the princesses there. The food is really good too. FYI - it's a long walk back there from the buses; be sure to give yourself a good 10-20 minutes to get back there depending upon how fast you think you can walk it. You can catch character buses to Epcot running from the resorts beginning @ 7am. (If you are staying at an Epcot resort, you can enter through the International Gateway, but make sure you have your ADR # with you)

The best tip we got from a CM at Magic Kingdom was about how to get into Pixie Hollow with minimal wait. We did MK two days in a row. On our first day, we first rode Dumbo, of course, and a few other Fantasy Land rides. By around 1030-1100am, we headed to Toon Town to meet the Princesses and Tinker Bell. The Princess line was only 10-15 minutes long, but Pixie Hollow had a 60 minute wait by that time and rope drop hadn't been that much earlier. Later that day while we waited in line for Santa, a CM was asking about our day. She told us to be at Toon Town before rope drop if you want to see the Fairies without a long wait. We took her advice and we were at Toon Town by 9:50am the next morning. We were the 6th family in line after rope drop. They spend a good deal of time talking/signing autographs/taking pics with the kids! It's wonderful (both princesses and fairies) By the time we were done in Pixie Hollow (1030am) the line was once again 60 minutes long. However, the Princess line was short again.

I love the Princess Breakfast and will continue to do that every trip (even when my girls have "out grown" them) but the character interaction at the meet and greet in Toon Town is much better. You pretty much get a hug and picture at the breakfast, although some characters interact more than others. But, as I said before, at Toon Town they spend a good deal of time with each child. They first ask their name(s), ask about their day or their trip, sign the autograph books (all the while continuing to talk to them), and then they took so many pictures of us (girls only, familiy pics) - it was great. My girls were a bit shy around the fairies, but they still spent a good deal of time with them. I was very happy with our time there. It was special for our girls too!

So my advice to you is this - Grab some Fast Passes for a ride in Fantasy Land and ride what you can there early (check to see if Ariel has gotten to Ariel's Grotto earlier than scheduled and if so, you shouldn't have a long wait to see her at all - be at Toon Town before rope drop (RD is at 10am) and as soon as you can get in, get in line for Pixie Hollow. After you are done with PH, get in line for the Princesses (if not too long - we went in Dec with Free Dining going on so the crowd level was fairly high - a lot higher than it was when we went at the same time 2 years earlier with no free dining going on.) When you are done with the Princesses, if your daughter wants to, hop on Goofy's Barnstormer. We were able to ride it over and over again before the lines got long. Even my DD2.5 loved it! Then head to your next desired destination!

Hope this info helps out. Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a wonderful trip!

There are 3 "princess meals".

First the classic one at Cinderella's Royal Table at the castle. Currently, they have the princesses there for breakfast & lunch. Cinderella greets you and you get a picture with her which is included. Then upstairs there are 4 princesses. Typically, it is Snow White, Belle in her blue dress, Jasmine & Aurora. Included in your price is the picture, a wand for girls (swords for boys) and a "wishing star". They have a wishing star ceremony for the kids. Also included in the price is tip, which the other 2 meals do not include that.

Akershus (Norway at Epcot) is a princess meal for all 3 meals. Typically, you have Belle greeting in her yellow dress in which you get a picture. The picture is included in your meal price. Then you have 4 princesses. I think most recently it's been Aurora, Snow White, Ariel & Cinderella. But this is more variable than at CRT.

1900 Park Fare dinner at the Grand Floridian is the last "princess meal", but it only has Cinderella. It has Cinderella, Prince Charming, the stepsisters & stepmother. The stepmother I heard can be a little mean, but the stepsisters are funny.

We have done Akershus & CRT for lunch. I enjoyed both immensely. I didn't love my Akershus entree, but there is a cold buffet which was great, and the desserts were yummy! The food at CRT was ok for us. The dessert was great at CRT also! CRT is definitely more rushed, but I think dining in the castle is very special! We are going back in May and DD3 requested to go back to the castle. We are doing both again, but for breakfast this time. I celebrated my birthday at both. CRT & Akershus both gave me an autograph card from the princesses & a cupcake. CRT decorated the table with Cinderella's carriage confetti. At CRT you can order a glass slipper dessert as well for birthdays! Both were very nice, but if I only had to choose 1, you can't beat eating in the castle as far as being special for a birthday!

I'll be watching this thread. We went to Akershus last year for lunch and the princesses were great, and some of the food was good, but it is different, obviously since it's in the Norway pavilion.

I've never been to CRT and I'm debating it for our next trip. We'll be doing the dining plan and I just don't know if it's worth two table credits each when I keep hearing that it's not really any better than Akershus, it's just in the castle...I dunno.

We loved the Princess dinner at Norway the best. As pp stated, entree was okay but the cold appetizer bar was really good. We saw Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.

We also prefer to see the princess in Epcot, except for Ariel. If you go back there around lunch time they are all coming out and the lines are usually not long. Snow White is in Germany, Jasmine in Morocco, Belle in France and Aurora inbetween France and England. We have some fabulous pictures from the last 2 trips.

See the Fairies in ToonTown but be prepared for a wait. I think our wait was over an hour but the girls loved it. Of course, you can see Ariel at Ariel's Grotto and she is usually at the Norway Princess dinner.

We also love Akerhouse in Norway for lunch. Highly recommend for all reasons other posters have mentioned. We definitely felt we got our money's worth out of the meal and the experience.

We did Akershus and CRT breakfasts last July. As others have mentioned, CRT was pic w/ Cindy, then Aurora, blue dress Belle, Snow White, and Jasmine upstairs.

Akershus was pic w/ yellow dress Belle, then Cindy, Ariel, Snow White, and Aurora.

LOVED eating in the castle.. :lovestruc :lovestruc Was it worth two credits? For the experience, yes, loved being called mi lady.. DH says we won't go back, kind of a once in a lifetime thing. (I'll change his mind next year).

Food was okay at both, I loved being served at CRT vs. buffet at Akershus. Honestly, for a birthday, I'd go with CRT.
