Princess Makeover Panic!!!

I hope you get it booked for when you need it!

I am sooooo jealous, I wish a had a little girl princess: :wizard:

Thanks Jemma - feel free to borrow mine any time! :thumbsup2

You can book in advance, but only in person, at the boutique in DLH, and pay up front. So you could go in on the Wednesday and book for the Saturday. :thumbsup2

When Rosebug got her's done in August we were told that if we wanted a different princess we could ask, so maybe there is a possibility of Jasmine, Merida or Mulan. Maybe worth an ask when you book.

They do Rapunzel; Tiana; Ariel; Tinkerbell; Snow White as set packages including dresses etc.

Brilliant - thank you so much for this!!

I wonder if they have the gorgeous aqua Ariel dress - I'm not as keen on the wedding dress, but I love that one! Or is that a WDW one too? November wouldn't be a good time to do the mermaid costume lol! Isabelle wants to get her hair dyed red like Ariel...

Ohhhh, decisions, I am going to have to factor all this into my planner somehow... :rotfl:

Oh my goodness - Jenny, she is just gorgeous. So natural and so, so pretty. Beautiful dress too - no wonder you wanted to show them off hun :lovestruc.

Sounds like Mulan might be a go as Rosebug mentioned :thumbsup2. Thinking about it, I suppose all they have to do is amend the facepaint if you are not getting a dress. But even with a dress package, they tend to have most of the dresses anyway.

Rosebug - I seem to recall you got Shareholder's discount but not the full 10% - was that correct? Wonder if they do Dream AP discount?

Aww thanks! It does sound like she could take her pick which is great news! It is her present after all, not mine! ;)

Aw Isabelle is goergus:goodvibes

how does the rapunzel one work do you need to take/buy a wing?
Also are all the make overs with the facepaints or can you get make up?
Love to hear from those who go b4 us (march 23rd). So please do reviews-tr ;)

Thank you!

I'm not sure how the Rapunzel one works, we have the dress & wig at home, but normally their hair is part of the package?

The make up to face paint ratio is at the discretion of the parent I think, so you can request your preference for your child. There are some stunning photos on another thread - not sure if a link is in here somewhere too...? :confused3

I think it is the wedding dress - sorry!

I may be wrong, but we were definately told we could choose from the list, or if there was another princess she really wanted...

The wig isn't included, it is dress and tiara!

Yes, it is very much at the discretion of the parent. I didn't want any make-up at all, just face paint, I softened when Rosebug begged for lipstick like Snow White, and allowed her to have lip gloss and some glitter, plus discreet eyeshadow as part of the face-paint.

These are some of the photos during and after Rosebug's makeover:

She has both rapunzel dress and the wig already , prob better of doing it myself.
She got a goergus belle dress as a presant from the states last wk but it too big :-(.
She is fair so might stear her in the way of cinderella maybe. Will suss her out closer to the time:goodvibes

Thank you :). Actually, I think it might have been Tripadvisor where someone said they got SH discount but not full 10% as the boutique said certain items of the package weren't included in the discount scheme - presuming the cost of the facepaint service & photo package maybe? The dress etc probably were subject to discount. I suppose it would be cheaper to buy the bits myself with AP discount 20% and then pay for the paint/photo package on it's own - and that means we get the Princess we'd like - good plan Rosebug!

It might have been me on the princess makeover thread, altogether it should have come to 162 euros, I asked about the SH discount and was told I could only get the discount on some items so it was 152 euros in the end. I could get the discount with the additional photos :goodvibes

Well she did ask for Mulan but I said that I didn't think she was an option!!

Do you think they do Rapunzel? She has a gorgeous dress from US that she could wear... or Cinderella or Aurora or Belle....!!! Although Belle dress is still a bit big TBH it is my absolute favourite...! Queue gratuitous photos of my baby girl...

Wow, she's absolutely gorgeous! :lovestruc

She'll love the princess makeover, it's amazing!

I see that you are going to be there at the same time as us, I can't wait, not long now!!!! I'm a little excited :lmao:

We get there on the 20th but we're staying in London on the Monday night so just under 2 weeks!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

dream is a wish - thank you, I remember reading it now! At least you got some discount :thumbsup2.

Rosebug - I recall seeing those photos in your TR - just gorgeous - the colours really suit your DD :lovestruc.

I have a silly question.... I am thinking of getting the DDs this on the Saturday as it will be busy in the parks so a nice way to spend some time away from the bustle, plus we are doing Inventions for Saturday dinner, so nice for them to be 'dressed up'. However, as the park doesn't close until 10 pm I had planned to get them to have a nap mid afternoon to help them stay up late. If they sleep I'm presuming they will smudge their faces? Some facepaint sort of dries on and has to be washed off, some is oily and kind of smudges IYSWIM, so that latter would definitely come off. See, I said it was silly :rotfl2:.

I don't fancy paying all that money and not getting it done until about 4 pm after their nap (I would imagine it would have finished by then for the day too)....

And, I don't really want to do it on the Friday as I think the park will be a little quieter so a good day to do more, plus it closes 7 pm, so don't want to spend too long away from it.

I'm trying to work out the best day/time to do this and like you decided that a weekend would be good as we can avoid the crowds in the parks!

Saturday we have Auberge for lunch and Sunday is Inventions so it all comes down to what she wants to wear. She is very excited to know she can pick which princess - and chose Pocahontas!!!!! Think I talked her out of that one - it's hardly the weather for it...

I am planning to take it slow on the Saturday but I know that there is no way my DD will sleep in the afternoon so am just going to see how long she lasts, knowing we'll never make it to the 10pm Dreams, and just enjoy choosing when we leave...

Could you plan a lie in rather than an afternoon nap?

How old are your DDs? Will they have buggies to nap in? Assuming there is less chance of smudging if they sleep sitting up..?!! :rotfl:

Pocahontas :rotfl2:. Bless her!

We ideally would like to stay out for Dreams on the Saturday as we go home early on the Sunday, so it's our last night :worried:.

My DDs don't really know what a lie in is :rotfl:. To be fair, they might be ready for one by the time Saturday comes so I could see. It's only one hour EMH so I'm not bothered if we don't manage that. We have Walts booked for lunch though so don't really want a late DLH breakfast as we'll never eat in Walts!

It's a nightmare planning and trying to work around everything isn't it!

I am not taking pushchairs this time - although I do plan to hire at least one for DD2 (4), I have a Dream AP so it's free. I will get a second if DD1 (7) needs it but she might manage a fair bit (and might be better to walk anyway if it's cold as she will keep warmer). But those pushchairs are a nightmare to sleep in so not much hope of a mid pushchair nap. I'll just have to wedge them up with pillows on the DLH bed :rotfl2:.

My Mum is normally good at coming up with solutions (as Mums are!) - I'll see what she thinks, it does depend on the paint too though as I said earlier - some hardly comes off unless you wash/scrub! :thumbsup2.

Mine doesn't know what a lie in is either, but it's amazing what an effect all that walking & fresh air can have!!

At least you are at DLH so you can pop back for a lie down easily and as you say, prop them up in bed!! :thumbsup2

We did it and here are the photos as promised (just mine though, no official ones on offer) ...

Aw she is just gorgeous! Really lovely - she really, really suits those colours. I love her little pose next to the tree :lovestruc. Thank you for sharing them.

So was it worth it? Presuming you got the makeup & hair done or was it the package with the dress too?

Did they not offer photos then? I thought it included a photo? When did you get it done in the end?

Sorry, so many questions . As you can imagine, I have so much buzzing round my head with us going Thursday! :rotfl2:

Hair & make up was E45, no photo was offered. We already had the dress and the tiara in the tree photo I got in the Merlin shop in the castle for E21, well E17 with shareholder discount.

We went for 9.20 am on the Sunday which was our last day. I dithered about which day/time as you know! On Saturday for our Auberge meal she was Cinderella and I decided I would do her hair for that as she wanted a bun which is fine. For her makeover she chose Rapunzel so I decided to let the professionals do that one!! All the characters she met bowed and kissed her hand and called her Princess which she thought was very amusing.

The makeup was lasted until she fell asleep in the car on the way to the airport and rubbed her eyes so may not survive a nap intact. Most was ok but the little details got wiped off.

The tree photo is self-posed, I can't stop her!! :lmao:

I thought the tiara in particular was gorgeous actually (and dress!) - so a good shout on that one! Ha ha - the pose was great - my two (DD2) in particular is terrible for having her photos taken so I was hoping official ones might make her better!

Hmm that is my worry about it rubbing off if they sleep on the Saturday afternoon! I can't see us doing it any other time though.

Nice that Isabelle got such attention :lovestruc.

That dress is beautiful is that from the US store

Aw she is beautiful, just showing dd2 the pics shes very impressed with her hair:). Its a shame there was no photo tho:confused3 . Luved the tiara!

We were thinking of doing it with our dd but was told it was reduced to 40 euros instead of 60 as the photographer was not available for the next 2 weeks. We opted instead for the facepainting for 12 euros by auberge which was fantastic for the price. My dd was very pleased. Will have to work out how to post photo.

Hmm, if we opted for the more expensive packages (with dress etc) I would really want the proper photos for the reason I said above. Will ask about this, but it sounds like we might not bother this time if no photographer :(.
