Princess Interactions - how are they at meals?

Our first time going to Disney and we have reservations at Akershus for lunch. Our 5 yo daughter is very excited. But I am wondering - does every princess in the room come around to every table? Will we be able to get photos with each and every princess who is at that meal? (I don't want to promise my daughter something that won't happen - thanks for any info!)

In my experience, yes. If for any reason you feel that you have been missed just mention it and they will come back. We were at the buffet and missed Aurora and she came back for us.

First of all, how exciting that you're going to Disney for the first time! Your daughter is going to have a blast!

To answer your questions:

- Yes, you will have the opportunity to take a photo with each princess at the meal. In fact, before you're even seated, you will meet Belle and have your photo taken with her by a photopass employee
- While you're seated, several princesses will come around and you will be able to meet and take a photo with all of them. The character interactions are fantastic at Akershus!

How does the interaction at Akershus compare with CRT? Is it similar or a bit better at one or the other?

We have an ADR for Akershus this summer. Last time we did Cinderellas Royal Table and the interactions were magical! I hear that Akershus may be even better when it comes to characters. We found that all of the character meals and meet and greets were just great. My DD, 3 at the time, had a necklace with her name on it when we went to CRT. Snow White spotted it and greeted her by name. It made my DD's day and ours as well. Enjoy your first trip!

I've done both, and the character interactions were great at both places. When our waitress came over at Akershus to take our drink order she let us know that it would be a good time to hit the buffet as there weren't any princesses that were close to our table. After we finished eating, she checked in to make sure we saw all the princesses. My daughter who was 4 the first time and 6 the second LOVED every second of CRT and Akershus.

Been to Crt and Akershus twice. crt and 1st Akershus in Sept and the character interactions were fantastic and they spent a good amount of time with us. Last Akershus was yesterday and on my 3 year olds birthday. Must have seen all 3 princesses (usually 4) for a total of 2 minutes they whizzed by so fast. We were seated right at the end near the character exit.

I sort of felt like all our character meals this last trip had quick/short character interactions. Maybe that's because we had extended family and by the time they did 4 autograph books, there was less time left for just visiting. I felt like if we tried to engage them in particular conversations (pointing out that one of us was wearing an Ariel shirt, telling Belle we had enjoyed her story time, asking Jasmine if her Tiger stays with her at Disney) they slowed down and responded nicely and extended the fun.

In general, I really like the character interactions set Akershus and our server always helps make sure we've seen everyone.

We still enjoyed our time though. Food is always nice and they got my daughter a pretty elsa colored cupcake for her birthday which she loved.


You get a photopass photo opportunity when you first come in usually with Belle and then you will see all the princesses that are there as they circle around the tables. You can take your own photos and get autographs and talk with them etc

Wish they still did the printed out photo folder though as that was really special the first time we went. That isn't where they should be trying to cut costs.

We did both CRT and Akershus last year and the interactions at both were wonderful. At Akershus they also do a little "Princess Parade" where all the kids get to parade through the restaurant with the princesses. It's really cute.

Akershus has wonderful princess interaction and we were a table of 4 adults. My BF doesn't know a lot of princesses and actually asked Sleeping Beauty if she was the one who lost her shoe

Each princess introduced herself to him and took their picture with him. His granddaughter can now play princess flashcards with him

Omgosh how funny! I would have loved to watched that interaction!

Akershus was wonderful with the girls. The princesses did a great job. Also, I personally enjoy the 1900 Park Fare dinner. Its only Cinderella, but watching the step sisters interact is a good time. CRT is great and 2 of the times Snow White has given one of the kids red lipstick on the forehead from a kiss.
