Does anyone know if the "Princess Gathering" is held on the 3 night cruises. We had not heard about this, but just read a report from a May 2004 4 day cruise that mentioned it.

We are going on our first cruise ever on Aug 19th (starting out with a 3 night to make sure we like it).

Our DD5 is a princess princess: fanatic and would love to meet them.

Thanks in advance.

Yes there is...it's tomorrow morning...so that would be the morning you are in Nassau.

Get there EARLY, as the line grows very fast and they will cut it when it gets too long.

Thanks for the help. DD is an early riser (6:30am at the latest) so we will get there plenty early. This will be a don't miss for us.

THANKS again !!

Princess Gathering? What is this? Do you think they might have it on the 14 day repos?

Where all the pricess gather in the atrium to take pictures and autograph. I would think they would have it on the 14 repo...Can't think of a reason why they wouldn't.

I don't believe Ariel is anywhere. Sorry.

The princesses that we saw were: Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, Mulan, Alice, Sleeping Beauty. The Queen of Hearts was also there - just a ways away from the princesses. There were probably a few more - my brain has not kicked in yet this morning. We were on the 4-nt Wonder.

The line started forming about 1/2 hour early for this. It is worth the wait.

I was so impressed with all the Princesses - they each took time to talk to the people who they were with. My DD was 9 at the time and "too cool" to dress like a princess. There were many girls in their favorite princess dress.

In addition to the Princess greeting, which was for photos and autographs, they also did an autograph only session for the princesses & Prince Charming. Pretty much the same cast of characters, however the goal on this was to get as many kids through as possible.

So for the 3 day, it will be early Friday morning, the day we are at Nassau and it is in the atrium and you need to get there early? How early? Is it going to be posted somewhere so we know when to get there?

Thanks so much!

Does anyone know when the "Princess princess: Gathering" is for the 7 day Eastern Cruise?

On our 5/27 3 night cruise the Princess Gathering was from 8:45 - 9:15am in the Atrium. It was on Friday, our Nassau day. They do post all of the character appearances on a board in the atrium, on the front page of your daily navigator and you can dial 7-7257 from your stateroom for detailed appearance information. I'm sorry I can't advise on how early to get there because my DD was more interested in the pool princess:

I can tell you that the photo's we saw in Shutters of this event were precious. My pocketbook is a little happy that my daughter wasn't interested because I could definitely see myself buying all those pictures.

On our 5-1 Eastern Cruise the Princess Autograph Session was on Monday from 11:30 to 11:50 in the Atrium. It is listed on the front page of the Navigator under Character Appearances, also on the tv screen by the elevators in the Atrium and on the phone. DD and I stupidly thought about going to it about 10:45 and they had already cut the line off by then and I asked some of the people waiting in line how long they'd been there and those toward the front of the line started the line up at about 9:45 or so....1 hour and 45 min of waiting in line is a little too excessive for me and my dd and thankfully she was ok with it (of course she had to be right?) but I can't imagine waiting almost 2 hours for anything.

It was at 8:45 this morning...yes it's Friday the day you are in Nassau

So let me just understand, because if I miss this, my 6 year old daugther will kill me.

On the 4 day Wonder - that goes Sunday to Thursday, when will this be?

If we are doing the dolphin encounter, will we have enough time to do the Princess thing first? (If on the same day as Nassau)

Do they ever change the time or day on this?

Is it always posted in the navigator?

Any information about this would be helpful, because my daughter is a fanatic (as I'm sure most young girls are).

Thanks,
Jim

From what I can tell from Barb and Tony's site the Princess Autograph session is on Monday the day in Nassau. The autograph session shows it goes from 9:00-9:30 in the Atrium. If you are going to do the Dolphin Encounter I would assume it is the Blue Lagoon Encounter which is scheduled to meet at 9:15 am in the Barrell of Laughs on Deck 3. If your dd is going to get her heart broken by missing the princesses (and believe me I have a dd so I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND) you may want to set a wake up call early enough to be one of the first in line so at 9:05 she's through the line and you can head to your tour. It seemed that all the character appearances were on the Navigator or accessed on the TV screens by the elevator or by dialing 7-7257 on the cabin phone to get the schedule.

Thanks, I know it might be somewhat rushed, but I can't see not doing it.

Does anyone know any of the princesses are around at other times, even if not all together, that would work also.

It's getting very close now, time for me to start going into real planning mode.

Thanks again, Jim

Jim,
There are characters around throughout the cruise. So while all the princesses do the Princess Greetings and the Princess Autograph sessions - there are times when they will be available individually for photos and autographs.

When you are on the ship - check the atrium. They have a board that lists the character functions for that day. Plus - you may come across characters at "unscheduled" times in the hallways.

When we were on the ship - there were 2 separate "princess gatherings". One was a Photo & autograph session. The other was soley an autograph session. So - if you miss one - maybe you can catch the other!

The advantage of the Princess photo and autograph function is - you get to see/talk to/get autographs from/ and get pictures with many. And there is only "1" main wait in line.

Plus - on the last night of the cruise - there is the character farewell (or should I say free for all) which is the final time to meet with the characters. The ships photographers will not be available for pics - but you can take your own pics.

And - at any time the ships photographers are taking pics - they will let you take photos with your camera.

Thanks,

The last time we were at WDW we filled up two 128 meg memory cards with our digital camera.

This time we bought another 256 meg - so I hope we will have enough room for a lot of pictures, and a little video.

That's too funny! I just told my husband that we needed at least 3 of the 256 cards for our trip and he said no one takes that many pictures! :hyper:
