I have heard that PFF has huge lines with little reward. Should we bother? We are going to have lunch at Ariel's Grotto and will get to meet the princesses then. If we do go to PFF, are there any tips to make it less of a time drain? Thanks!

If you are seeing the princesses at Ariel's, then I would skip the meet & greet at PFFT. However, storytime's are held here now and the schedule is listed clearly at the theater. To me, that was the one thing that I felt was worth seeing at the Faire.

I thought a meet and greet was all that was offered. I'm glad I asked! So the other thing is story time? What does that mean? Are the princesses reading stories? Sorry! Last time dd was too little to care about princesses, so this is all new! Thanks!

The storytime was cute. A princess comes out and tells her story.

We took DS, and wow it was a long line. But he wanted to meet princesses, so it was worth it for him and us.

After, he didn't want to leave so we sat for the storytime, which seems to happen often. And he was chosen to dance with the princess, who turned out to be Sleeping Beauty, and if you wish to, my December trip report (link in my signature) has some pictures that I took of that. :)

I think if DS wanted to go again to meet them, I'd go first thing in the morning when PFF opens. That way the line might be shorter and the payoff might feel better.

Just don't let your kiddo get "set" on seeing any one princess, because they change in the meet and greet. While we were in line, we saw Cinderella and Prince Charming leave, which upset some kids. Then when we were next, we were told that Mulan was there, which we were excited for. But then just as we got in, she left and Pocahontas took her place. So don't let yourself get exciting for a particular princess, just try to make sure the child is open to anyone, and it will be better.

Over Belle and Pocahontas, my guy liked Princess Minnie the best. :upsidedow I think it's b/c she wasn't wearing lipstick. :rotfl:

The princess story time is where they have a princess come out (you don't know who it is going to be until she comes out), and she tells her own story. The kids sit around her on little mats that they bring out. It's fun and they ask kids from the audience to participate. They have this several times a day with the schedule marked on a sign.

They also have the Royal Coronation Ceremony with several princesses on stage where they teach you to dance like a princess then they do a little may pole dance with ribbons. It's cute, but I thought seeing it once is enough.

There is also a place where you can get your little princess' hair and make up done, but I have heard it's expensive. You can also decorate crowns and color princess pictures at little picnic tables they have set up in the shopping area.

Hope that explains it further for you. :)

When we went to DL just a couple weeks ago we did the Princess Faire. We waited in line to see Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and Princess Minnie. Another day we came back for the storying telling and saw Cinderella telling her story and then the carnation afterwards with Sleeping Beauty Mulan and Belle. We did Ariel's Grotto for lunch and seen Ariel, Cinderella, Mulan, Belle, Fairy Godmother.

We waited to see the princesses as DD really wanted to meet them. They handed out crowns and stickers to keep the little ones amused in the line. The princesses were lovely and we got some great photo's. The only disappointing thing was that there is no sign on the line as to expected wait time. The line did not seem that long but we waited about 40 minutes. You also don't know which 3 princesses you are waiting to see. We were lucky as DD is obsessed with Cinderella and luckily she was there.

When we went last year it was pretty crowded with long lines. However, if you have a little one whose trip would be made by seeing it then it would be worth it. I just had to remind myself to relax and let my daughter enjoy herself.

We watched the coronation ceremony, colored and got her photo made with the princesses. I would have liked to watched the storytelling but we ran out of time because we had to meet up with the rest of our group. After braving the crowd once we decided not to go back and try it again.

For us, once will probably be enough. This year it seemed that princesses were just not very interesting to my DD anymore.

If you are going to Ariel's Grotto you will probably enjoy that. It is much better organized. You can get in some pretty good quality time with each princess as they don't seem quite as rushed. Plus, they had some pretty good food.

If your child is really into princesses I would go ahead and do both! After all, can one ever really get too many princesses?

You know, we did both. And I think my dd enjoyed the PFF more. We got there early at 8:30 (it opened at 9) there was only two other people in front of us. My dh and dd went off to get something to eat while I waited. I have to say that SLeeping Beauty was by far the best. you get to take better pictures with the Princesses their at PFF. There is also a spot to color, and take a little mini time out before the "lessons"

At Ariels Grotto, we found it was much to busy for the princess to spend much time at each table, and the pictures have people in them. Georgia didnt want to focus on eating much becuase she was to excited so it was hard to get her food in her little body when it was much needed. Also, we were told one set of Princess would be there and there they were differnet when we actually got there.

SO looking back, I would do both again.

Thanks everyone! I think we will do both, but just make sure to go first thing one of the mornings that we are there. I appreciate your feedback! :grouphug:
