Can someone who's BTDT recently fill me in on what exactly takes place at the PFF hair and make-up session? The same request for Club Libby Lu? My daughter would love to play dress-up when we head to DL, but I'm not sure which would be a better choice. I would love to hear details about what happens at each place. Thanks!

IMO, PFF does a more "classy" job. The girls come away looking like beautiful little princesses. You have to be careful at Libby Lu that they dont come away looking trashy. However, Libby Lu takes reservations, so you know what time to go. PFF has long lines, and you need to plan on being there for a few HOURS, which to me is crazy. If you want an idea of what is included at Libby Lu and the type of packages available you can check it out on their website.

We did LL in the spring of 06. My daughter LOVED it. She went with a popstar make over. They put way too much blue eye shadow on her. I had to take her in to the bathroom and fix it. She said after the fact that she wishes she would have went with the princess makeover. She loved the little things they let you pick out as part of the package (body glitter, hairclips, etc).

I've never done Libby LU, but did PFF on March 18th. The hairstyle was really nice, came with glitter, ribbons, and flowers. It was $30. My younger daughter got a tinkerbell on her face--$15.

The glitter took forever to get out of her hair! Anyhow, it was fun and we went to PFF early so the line wasn't too bad. Last year we stood in line for over an hour.

I would LOVE to see pics from both places. I plan on letting my 4 y/o do it, but would love to see outcomes to better enable my decision.

AWWWW i want a girl!!!! Maybe i will just have to do it myself :lmao: ..... well lets hope at the ultrasound next friday they tell me girl.... then i will just have to be patient and then 2 trips from now can do it :goodvibes Inless i get a baby with lots of hair! :rotfl: ......... I would let my daughter do it for sure! Maybe if pricing is about the same just let her decied which she would like to do better!

I'm also keen to know about this, plus:

1) Where is PFF?

2) How do you book for LL?

DD has seen a Hannah Montanna package at LL she likes the look of for when we go in August

TIA

Celestine

1) Where is PFF? It is in Disneyland, near small world and toon town. Its in the location where the Snow White stage show used to be. They have a ceremony where the girls learn to curtsy and they dance a maypole dance with princesses. There are also games, coloring and crown decorating. There is a meet and greet area as well. Near the meet and greet area they do hair and face painting. There is aso a face painting kiosk near the Matterhorn. The lines there are typically shorter, but they dont do hair, just face painting.

2) How do you book for LL? You call them directly (get the phone number from their website. Or you can try to do a walk up. When we went we booked, but the times they had available were not great. One day during our trip we called and asked if they were busy, they said no. So we hustled over and got right in. If you book an appt, you must pay in advance and it is nonrefundable

Oh yes! I would love to see some pictures too! I like the reservations that come with LL, but daughter is only 5 and she really wants a princess 'do'. Thanks for all the advice so far!

The Main Street Barber Shop also will add glitter and ribbons to the Girls hair. Not as Grand as the other places. But if you don't want make-up it may be a better choice for less dollars and less of a wait.

Maybe have brothers hair cut and sisters hair done up!!

huh, I did not know that? I that both DL and MK had one?

No sadly the barbershop is only at WDW.

Thats why we have PFF and LL to make up for it at least for the girls. Sorry boys!

We were in DL in September, with my nieces ages 8 and 10 and my DD 3. I had made reservations at LL for all three. DD 3 was totally uninterested and ended up skipping the makeover. However, DN 8 got the princess makeover--she looked fabulous! DN 10 got the Hannah Montana makeover, which she loved! She carted that cheap wig around for about 1 week afterwards! If I recall correctly, we spent approx $30 per child.

We also stopped at the PFF for hair/make-up/facepainting. Again DD3 could not have been less interested in any of this. DN 8 and 10 each got face painting, maybe $15-20 total. There were no lines at all, so we got right in.

We also took the girls to actually meet the princesses at PFF. This has been discussed in other threads, but here is what I did. I had heard how horrid the line for meeting them can be, and I wanted to avoid that at all costs. PFF opens 30 minutes after the park, so I got in line about 10 minutes after the park opened. Mom and kids joined me 10 minutes later and we all waited for PFF to open. We were first in line to meet the princesses and were on our way to enjoy the day.

The older girls loved LL, my 3 yo could have cared less, but she really liked meeting the princesses. And, we are doing it all again in May!

fyi, they do face painting in DL over across from the Matterhorn and at DCA over on the boardwalk. It's about $15 depending on what you get done. DD11 had Tink and DD8 got butterflies.

We've never done LL, but we did PFF last year for DD's birthday...we were able to walk right up and get her hair done, which was unexpected (her b-day is in mid August, so we expected crowds). They did a great job...I want to say it was $30, and she was so happy. Her hair was too short for an up-do, so they did glitter and ribbons and flowers in her hair, and it was really cute...and it stayed in for a week (at that point, I forced DD to wash her hair, LOL!).

Thanks for the link! I'll just have to wait and see if another one comes out for when we will be there.

I know in the past, if you booked through Disney travel you got a coupon book or discount card. It typically had something for LL. I think we got $5 off or an upgrade when we did it.
