Good Morning! I was hoping you could help me out with a few questions. Does anyone know when Disney Stores bring out their Halloween Costumes? I am thinking of getting my DD a Jasmine costume for our trip next month. I have been watching Ebay - but the nice jasmine outfits seem a little high - I can't remember what I paid for her Belle dress last year.

Also what do your DDs wear for shoes when they dress up at WDW? Those plastic heels that DD clomps around in now are terrible, IMO.

As for the shoes, we got my DD3 a pair of glittery pink dress shoes for "princess shoes". They're different, so they're special. I agree about the plastic princess shoes, terrible and about 3 sizes too big.
We got our princess dresses at WalMart & Target, one in spring, one in winter and one in summer, so I can't help with the Disney store question.

Hope this helps!

I've heard people say that they usually come out this month. I hope so, since we have a trip in the beginning of August, and I need a Cinderella costume for my DD!

Hi
I bought my DGD 3 1/2 a Cinderella dress in Walmart for $17.49 and it's really pretty. Her dress from Halloween is really beat since she wears it all the time. I think my DD just has sandles for her to wear with it. At Walmart, they had a whole section of different princess dresses and the accessories to go with them. We're going to Bibbitty boppity boutique with her dress on and then to 1900 Park Fare for the Cinderella dinner. Hope you find the dress you're looking for. Have fun on your trip!!! :)

We just got back from WDW last month and the costumes were 60.00 at WDW. I bought my daughters cinderella dress at Target since she wanted to dress like cinderella when she meet her at CRT for lunch. It was nice cause I didnt have to worry if she got something on it and she didnt want to change out of it so she rode the rides and everything with it on and since it was cheap I didnt have to worry about her getting it messed up like I would have if I had spent 60 bucks on it. Now the second day she dressed as Jasmine for the story book dining with the princesses and thats only because my aunt works at disney world and got her that outfit with her discount. The outfit is adorable but all the dangling coins came off very easy. I think only 3 are left dangling on it but it still looks cute even without the coins. I just figured with it being so expensive they would have the coins attached better. As for shoes, my daughter has a pair of disney princess sandals and thatswhat she wore and they were comfortable for her.
Hope your family has a wonderful magical trip to WDW :)

The Disney Store dresses will be out anytime now. I think once the summer sale is done they bring on the Halloween costumes. DD's birthday is July 24th and she always gets a new princess dress for her birthday and it seems like I have been able to get them in plenty of time- around the second week of July.

As far as shoes go, I was able to convince DD for our January trip that she did not need to wear fancy shoes (it was quite a discussion!). We found white leather tennis shoes at Target and they had charms on them. Unfortuantely, she has wide feet and we ended up buying a similar pair for 2x the cost at Stride Rite, but the Target pair were just as cute. Have a great trip!

We used some slip on "princess" shoes. They are the ones that look like ballet shoes but have the regular shoe bottoms. We got them at Target last fall, but I'm sure they'll have more. They worked great because when she wanted to change into shorts and her comfy shoes, these shoes didn't take up much room in the bag and were light weight.

I just bought a Cinderella dress at the Disney Store this week Sunday! It was on clearance for only $10. At that price we purchased the next size up as well.

We got a dress on EBay (gorgeous Alice in Wonderland dress- including dress, petticoat, and white pinafore embroidered with the rabbit) for the 1900 Park Fare Breakfast. I saw tons of costume type dresses on there. Target also has some costume-esque dresses. As for shoes, I bought a pair of white leather mary janes at Payless that she can wear with frilly ankle socks.

Good luck in your dress search!

Recently found Jasmine outfit at TJMaxx in our area. Didn't have shoes. If you go to yard sales or know someone who does ask them to look for you. I have been able to find some lovely bargains this way. :wave2:

Do you have a picture of this Jasmine outfit? My DD wants to be her too and I don't know if I want to get it at Disney store or wait until I get to Disney. Thanks.

Hi yes I have lots of pics lol I am going to see if I can attach it in this message . This is the Jasmine outfit sold at Walt Disney World. In the second picture you can see how the coins were coming off, still cute outfit without the coins. I am sorry but I do not know how to resize the pics so they will probably be huge . Anyhow, I hope this helps.

LOL we have the same Jasmine costume from WDW and the coins fall off so easily. We bought it last year right before we went to the Princess Breakfast and returned it for another one after the breakfast was over..they were VERY nice about it and said t doesnt normally happen..lol I guess they were wrong!!!

Oooppss forgot to add that i usually put either sandals or regular sneakers on my dd's if they want to walk around in their costumes!!!

Thanks Cara,
My dd is named Kaylee also! She just turned 6. BTW she loves the costume I showed her the picture of it.

Last Jan. or Feb. there were several posts about princess dresses that were very good quality and well made, for a much smaller price than the ones from Disney. They were being sold online, but I don't remember the web address. Does anybody remember this?

(Sorry I'm not much help, I'm the mom of 2 boys! Just wanted to put that out there in case someone else can help in your search for a nice dress!)

I got the TJ Maxx Jasmine dress for my 4.5 year old. It was about $17. (They also had the red Belle dress.) It is dark purple, and a full dress - no cut out flesh on the tummy.

Not sure if we'll pack this one or not - we also have Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Tinkerbell, and Snow White. I'd have to pack an extra suitcase just for dress up!

BTW, does anyone make princess dresses in size 12-18 month or 18-24 month? My younger dd will be 17.5 months when we go in January, and I'd love to dress her up too!

Yes! Check out this site. https://www.mydressuptrunk.com/aboutus.aspx They also sell on ebay by their store name. And here is an article about the company that makes the costumes. http://www.drlaura.com/sah/money.html?mode=view&tile=1&id=7544

I think I saw something posted on the Dis somewhere that Walmart had some pretty inexpensive princess dresses in infant/toddler sizes. I have also found cute costumes in girls and infants from disneydirect.com
