princess dining: CRT, Askerhaus and/or Grand Floridian??

We are going to akershush for dinner. Its our first trip with DD. I have not been to WDW in 8 years now, so I am so excited!

We did 1900 Park Fare for dinner last sept. Cinderella was there & the Fairy godmother. (Prince Charming was not, but that was ok). It was a TERRIFIC experience! DD loved it!

This Sept we are doing the Cinderella dinner @ The Grand Floridian Cafe (becuase 1900 is closed for renovations). It will be pre-plated instead of a buffet, sort of a bummer... but worth it to see Cinderella!

We also are going to Ackerhaus for the 1st time (for dinner). Very excited!

We chose to wait one more year to try CRT, becuase next year our younger daughter will be almost 3 when we go, and she will enjoy it more! For the expense (I dont think its worth 2 TS credits, so we will pay out of pocket), we figured we would wait.

Everyone I know says its an experience to eat in the castle, but, 1900 Park Fare for dinner gives you a lot more one on one with Cinderella!

HTH!

Haven't been to CRT, but between GF and Askerhus, I'd take Askerhaus any day! We did breakfast and it was yummy. Not impressed w/ GF.

Thanks for all the replies so far! I'm so torn now!!

I think CRT is a must for us in ciderella's castle. Cinderella is their favorite, with princess aurora a close second (hence my wanting to do the princess tea at GF). We're going in September with the free dining. Since the Norway princess breakfast is only 1 dining point, that seems easy enough to squeeze in. Now for the big decision about GF. It really looks like a one-of-a-kind experience. Since we're trying BBBo too, it would be great to continue the "royal treatment." Now if I can convince my dh...

If anyone else has any input to share, I'd love to hear it!

Thanks again!! :flower3:

I stayed at GF during my last trip in 2006 and my daughter was 4. My mom, myself and my daughter did the tea with Sleeping Beauty and it was very nice. It really gives you one-on-one interaction with SB and Princess Rose Petal who really does the whole show. They teach the girls how to drink tea (apple juice) and each girl gets a doll, a bracelet and a rose. My daughter still has a pic of Princess Rose Petal on her dressar, she liked her more than SB. I do admit that it was quite pricey and the food was pretty much nothing (yucky finger sandwiches). They sing and take live requests (there is a piano player). While she liked it, I am not sure it was quite worth the money except for the one-on-one with SB. That is what you are paying for. We are going in Oct. and have ressies at CRT and Norway and won't be doing the tea (it's a one time experience). Overall, if your girls like SB, it's worth it to do it once. They make them feel very special by introducing each girl as "princess" as they enter the room. Most girls dressed like a princess as well (mine did not and had a great time!).
Good luck with your decision!!

I took my DD to Akershus last year b/c we decided to go to disney last minute and the castle was booked. I think it was for the best b/c my DD4 is a HUGE jasmine and mulan fan and they were both there as well as Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Mary Poppins, Belle and Ariel. From what I have heard from friends, the royal dining at the castle doesnt have as many princesses BUT you have the "atomsphere" of being in the castle and much better food than akershus. Don't get me wrong, the food at akershus isn't that bad but you arent really there for the food. Also, definatly go to the BBB before you go!
