We are going to WDW in less than 3 weeks, and want to buy one of the princess costumes for our DD while we are there. Can any of you remember how much these outfits cost? Thanks for your help!! princess:

the basic dresses are around $50-$60, but there are LOTS of accessories that you can buy, which would take you well over the $100 point. My dd has a dress from the disney store (ok, she has at least 4) which are cheaper but aren't as fancy (they are still nice, but side by side you can see the difference in quality).
She has never had any accessories and never minded, but recently she has started asking about the wigs..... It may be worth managing those expectations, as we say at work, if you aren't planning on buying the shoes, the wig, the necklace, the wand etc etc as well as the dress.

the dresses are all gorgeous, your dd will love them!

My girls outfits were about $55 without the accessories. My advice is definitely do not get the shoes. They are too uncomfortable to wear around the parks. I just white sandals on the girls and they look fine. Of course they did have to get the tiara, wand and gloves so you don't get away cheaply!

We used our Disney Rewards card at our last trip to Disneyland/Princess Store. Our daughter picked out the Aurora dress (Sweeping Buty) as she calls it. It was $50. I had shoes and a wig from last years DS clearance. I love the dress and it seems to be made really well. Our baby daughter will hopefully be able to wear it also. We had bought the Cinderella dress from the DS last year as well, but the quality is definitely not as nice. Stick with a nice one...I think you won't be disappointed.

Is there a Princess Store at Magic Kingdom? The one at Disneyland is truly enchanting... princess:

There is a princess store at MK. It's called Tinkerbelle's treasures and it's to your left after you go through the castle.

DD's Cindy dress was purchased online at the Disney store for $35.00 (check www.couponcodes.com for current codes for the Disney Store). I also bought the "glass slippers" for $9.00. Bought her the Princess crown at Big Lots for $4.99 and a pretty pair of lace cuffed socks for .99 at my homeland -the Walmart.

Cost of Cinderella Dress - $35.00
Cost of Accessories - $14.98
Cost of her face on Halloween when I pulled it out of gift bag - Priceless

Can't wait to see her in it at Cinderella's breakfast in February! It has been (and I'm sure will be) worth every penny...

Walmart/ Target has Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and sometimes Tinkerbelle. The costumes are beautiful and are not cheap-looking. They ARE different from the dresses at Disney but are made from the same quality materials. Lots of tulle underneath, etc. About $19.00. They seem to change the dresses a lot so, occasionally , there will be close outs at Big Lots.
Also , there are sellers on Ebay. I bought a Little Mermaid PRINCESS dress for $35 that we had to have for our preschool Mardi Gras(Did you know that Mobile, Alabama is the birthplace of Mardi Gras?) parade. (I wish I knew how to put pics on this reply-this preschool parade is unbelievable, Moms go all out!)
Anyway, I didn't want to pay that, but she didn't want to be a MERMAID Ariel, only a princess. This seller had hard to find costumes, like the villains and side-kicks.

My mom bought DD her princess dress from WalMart, it was on sale for $15. DD loved the dress and got lots of compliments on it at the park when she wore it. Definitely not as nice as the ones they sell at WDW, but since DD likes to wear it for dress up at home it was fine with me.

At the parks we saw a great selection of princess dresses at Mousegears in Epcot and Tink's Treasures in MK.

There is a disney direct store on ebay. It is closeout items directly from disney...including park and resort merchandise. I just order a set of 3 princess dresses in a case (as seen in the catalogue at x-mas time for $50) for 19.99. They also have more detailed costumes. The store is called Disney Deals direct from Disney. Some are auction and some you may just buy right away. Good luck.

Do a google of Princess dress... DD wanted Princess Aurora, so I went to Bizrate, found a "Prestige" costume... (The Prestige line has the Disney logo on it) and got dd's for $35... (oh I do Bizrate because consumers rate the online stores, so I felt more comfortable going thru bizrate)

We bought the crown at WDW last year, since we couldnt afford the dress, I also shopped at the Disney store and bought dd a few white Princess T-shirts, so dd wore her crown with her comfy white tshirts, it worked out great for us!

The costumes at WalMart are for smaller children btw... toddlers, and maybe a 4-5 size small...

Okay, I know it's cheaper to find a costume at Walmart or Target but it's not the same as buying one in Disney World! Our daughter thought she was in heaven picking out a costume at Tinkerbell's Treasures at the MK. It wasn't cheap, $55 for the dress, plus the gloves, tiara and shoes (another $35 or so). So plan on $100 and have fun picking something out there. The quality is much nicer than what you find in the stores--even the Disney Store. You can certainly see the difference from what you've purchased at WDW compared to what you bought at the Disney Store for Halloween.

Hi! I'm here at Disney now and just bought an Ariel dress. :Pinkbounc They are running about $60 without any accessories. There is also a BEAUTIFUL new Cinderella Coronation dress (white) that runs $95! HTH!

Yes, it was crazy, but we also bought two princess dresses for our daughter. The pretty yellow Belle dress was $65 and the special Silver 50th Anniv. Cinderella dress was $95. Then we bought the accessories such as crown, wand and cape. It wasn't cheap but the quality between these dresses and the less expensive ones in the disney store is apparent. Well, at least we got a 10% discount with our annual pass. Many stores that sold princess dresses didn't carry the special 50th anniv. Cinderella dress. We bought it in Epcot (Mousegear?) and saw it in Grand Floridian Resort store as well as the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney.

I know you want to buy dresses in the park, but for the benefit of others reading this thread, there's an eBay seller called "mydressuptrunk" who sells wonderful princess dresses (not scratchy at all!) at great prices. They have/had a website at http://www.mydressuptrunk.com, but it's not working right now... I hope it's up and running again soon.

KB Toys in the mall have real Disney and Barbie dress up stuff for $19.99 with the hoops underneath (make them look very full). They also have the shoes, gloves, tiaras and wands that match.

You can buy a dress for 50-75 but be aware that most of these dresses are uncomfortable. My dd has slight eczema and her skin is easily irritated. She said dresses were itchy. She did want the Jasmine outfit said it didn't itch as much as the others. She got a Minnie dress and can wear it all day at the parks or home with no complaints as it has no tulle. She is now expressing interest in an Alice dress or a Belle blue dress probably because of the itch factor.
