My 5yoDD will turn 6 soon after our trip and wants to have a Princess tea party for her BDay. Does anybody have any good ideas of inexpensive party favors that we could buy in the park? I thought it would be nice to ge things not sold at every party store or WalMart.

My DD had a tea party for her 5th birthday in Nov. We went out the day after Halloween and bought costumes dresses for each girl. We began the party by reading How to Be A Princess. We spent most of the party getting "dressed". They choose a dress, had their hair done, did their nails, and make-up. For the treat bags I got each girl a purse and as she went through the stations she put her make-up, nail polish etc in her bag to take home. We then had tea (punch) and cookies. At he end we put on a fashion show for the mom's. It was really fun and the girls loved taking the costumes home. It would be more expensive now to buy the dresses but maybe at a garage sale? Have fun, we sure did! :teeth:

Oriental Trading Co has been sending me "birthday parties" catalog that look almost exactly like Birthday Express' catalog. My first thought was "did OTC buy BE??". The layout was the same and the products were the same but the prices were substantially lower! I just ordered Buzz Lightyear invites from OTC and they are GREAT! I saw Disney Princesses party supplies too. I checked the website and couldn't find it but you can search a little more if you want. Otherwise I would just call them and ask for a Birthday Catalog. Good luck.

If you live near an IParty store, they had a lot of Disney Princess Party invites, plates, napkins and party favors etc, along with generic princess tiaras. I was there last week.

Also, check your Dollar Tree. They frequently have Disney & Disney Princess items.

if you are having a tea party I would go to the dollar store and buy some white tea cups. They have these perm markers that write on glass and let them decorate there tea cups. you can also have them decorate cookies with frosting and sprinkles. I would tell them to dress up to save $$ and just buy some princess tiara and wands,. As for favors, i would buy some rings, necklaces and maybe some makeup/..

Just wanted to let you know that we've done a birthday tea twice. When DD turned 4 and 7. We let the girls dress up in their fanciest and provided accessories. We also went to a tea shop/restaurant. For less than $10. / child we had finger sandwiches, hot chocolate tea (each girl had her own child size tea pot), fruit salad, and an entire beautiful cake. Family Fun website also has a section on their website for ideas and decorating for a tea party. We made giant tea bags for their favors and bought sequins (self-sticking) to sprinke in like pixie dust. All the girls had a riot, and really enjoyed acting grown up. princess:
