Princess 2012

I don't recall Disney ever saying. In the past, registration for the nextyears race was the day after the intial race, but registration for next year's January marathon doesn't open for another week or so.

Wasn't it July that registration opened up for the Princess last year? I would imagine that it will be the same deal this year for the 2012 race. The way this year is flying by, July will be here before you know it!

It was July when registration opened this year. They didn't announce the official date for awhile after the 2010 princess though if I remember correctly. I don't know if that delayed when registration opened...

I'm in for the 2012. I'm hooked on this running thing now!!!

And because I don't know any of you in real life, I can let you in on a secret. I may be running the 2012 Princess as a...wait for it...Florida resident!!!!! Dh is starting the process of transferring his police certification to Florida and we're looking for jobs. We've been going back and forth as to whether or not we should move. As soon as I stepped out of the airport on Friday, my mind was made up. I called dh and said we're doing it!

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just have to "cool my jets" til July, ha,ha.

Ban26ana, congratulations on your upcoming move. Are you moving from a cooler climate because Florida summers can be horrible. DH and I live in the Rockies and I have always wanted to live near WDW but know I would die from the heat and humidity. lol.

Congrats on the possible move. I agree about the brutality of the summer. Last weekend was amazing weather for winter/spring, but come back in August and you might rethink that move. I live an hour north of Disney. Training during the summer was ridiculous. No cool mornings, no cool evenings, just heat and humidity. I renewed my gym membership so that I could use the treadmills. Don't forget hurricanes. I've lived in FL for most of my life and I'm happy about it, but our weather has its pros and cons. Of course, depending on where you live, your weather experience could vary greatly. I lived in S. FL until 8 years ago. It's WAYYYYYY different than north of Disney.

I'm looking forward to Princess 2012. I'm wondering how much time I could take off of my 3:24 finish.

Yes, I'm coming from NJ. But climate isn't the reason for the move. Although after these past few winters, it is a nice perk. I'll take stifling heat over 50-some inches of snow. When I got back home on Tuesday morning, I found that our heater was broken. So right now I'm using the woodstove until the part comes in to fix the boiler. Ugh, I wish I was back in Disney!!:wizard: But the move is for many other reasons. I'm really excited about it!

Trust me with 300 inches on the ground so far and March being our heaviest snow fall, I'm looking forward to the summer! lol

I'm in too. This looks like it's becoming an official countdown thread....

I did the disneyhalf in 2010 and the full in january. cooling it for marathon w/e next year so i can run princess, in a tutu and tiara, of course!

registration doesnt seem to fill up as fast as marathon weekend (or how it has in the past) but it will def. be awhile still. good luck!

I'm doing the Princess and the DL half in 2012, so I can get that commemorative medal!:thumbsup2:banana::hippie:
