Prince Charming?

I've recently booked 1900 Park Fare as a surprise for my daughter's eighteenth birthday. She's not too much into the whole character thing, but I know she'd love to meet Prince Charming (and what warm-blooded woman wouldn't??).

However, while flipping through threads about the restaurant, I saw some instances in which he was not at the dinner, and now I'm a little concerned.

Is he frequently missing from the dinner or are these just freak occurences? I know he's listed as a regular, but I'm still a little concerned, since I only booked it because of him. Now I'm wondering if I should cancel my reservations - I'd hate to take her there only for her to be disappointed by a no-show.

Thoughts?

When we ate there in July he was there. Came by our table twice, and that was at dinner.

We ate there Sept. 05. The prince was there and came around one time. He was very gracious.

One other thing to consider, the food was wonderful! One of the best, if not the best, buffets I've ever had.

13 days and counting! :Pinkbounc

He was there when i took 4 kids there this summer. The boys really liked seeing another guy.

He was there when we ate there in August and my DD7 called him "dreamy" (well if the shoe fits... ;) he was pretty darn cute) and he blushed in the picture, it was a cool experience. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere is special too. Suzy and Perla (the mice) were lots of fun at the meal too.

He was NOT there at our dinner on Dec 6. BUT, Aladdin and Jasmine were there as substitutes! Aladdin was yummy! ;) My kids were just as happy to see them, and I don't think any of the dads eating that night minded Jasmine either~! :rotfl:

We went on the 4th of December and he was there. But I have to say he gave my Husband more attention then our neice. Which led to a lot of fun teasing later, but might not fit your plan so good for your 18 year old dd.

We were also there Dec 6th. Neither Prince Charming NOR the Fairy Godmother were there that night (although DD5 absolutely adored the substituted Aladdin).

We were staying at the Floridian and looked in the next night to see both were there. We asked if anyway possibly for DD5 to get autograph/picture because of previous night's absence. Hostess said Dec 6th night was a really bad night all the way around and to hold on. It took a few moments, but DD5 wound up with an "intimate" conversation with Prince Charming outside the restaurant area. She then got to talk with the Fairy Godmother who also apologized for her absense (said she forgot her lipstick and couldn't come without).

End result for us was fantastic, but I did learn not to promise certain characters to my daughter.

Now that's Disney magic! I love when things work out like that. I would have been disappointed too, but most places wouldn't have gone out of their way like that and THAT's why I keep going back.

Prince Charming is supposed to appear at 1900 for dinner HOWEVER if he can't make it he will be substituted with anyone they can find. So please don't promise your little one he will be there. You can always chance it and you may be pleasantly surprised.

We were there in November and he was not there nor was he substitued with anyone. The fairy Godmother was also missing from the entrance and there was no one there either. The food was good but all in all we were not thrilled with the characters. Only saw 2 mice and cinderella very briefly. I felt that they paid more attnetion to the younger kids than mine who are 10 and 13. My daughter was sad and very sad about missing the Prince. We also did the breakfast the same trip and were disapponted there also in the character interaction. We had done the breakfast in 2003 and had a much better experience. I will say again that the food is wonderful! I doubt we will do these again as they are expensive and we were disappointed twice in the same trip.

At the risk of souding really anal - OK I am - The Prince in Cinderella is just that "The Prince". He is never named. Prince Charming is from Snow White. She says to the dwarves "the Prince, he was charming". The Prince in Sleeping Beauty is Prince Phillip and then of course there is Prince Erik from Little Mermaid.

I know I am nitpicking but I am the psycho chick that wigs when they put Aurora in pink because she never was pictured in that dress as a solid color of pink, only at the end when it was turning back and forth and yes I know that Disney chose blue as Cindy's color - another pet peeve - so they couldn't have two princesses in blue but that is getting off into another place.

Re: your question, I saw the Prince at 1900 but I think it is based on schedules and availability. You can always call the day of and ask.

Dec 10 2005, he wasnt there. We told dd he was out Christmas shopping for Cindy. We had snow white to fill in instead

Actually, Cinderella's Prince is Prince Charming. Even though it is never mentioned in the film, Disney always refers to him as such. He even signs autographs as "Prince Charming" in the parks while Snow White's Prince just signs "The Prince". Snow White's Prince may be charming, as she tells the Dwarfs, but Prince Charming is the name of Cinderella's Prince.

I forgot that The Fairy Godmother wasn't there either. We had seen her at CRT. we ate at 7pm (6:30pm ADR). I agree that night was nuts at 1900 Park Fare. We sat immediately to the left after you entered the restaurant. I figured it would be less crowded on a MVMCP night. We stayed at the GF too in Sugar Loaf. Glad you got the Princes signature.

I wonder if we are in each other's pictures? My boys had on Lime Green FMT shirts, and my DD was dressed as Cinderella.

We had 6pm ADRs and were seated about 25 min later. We were in the the
very back -where you can look in to restaurant from hotel area, although that was closed that night.

Based on where we were sitting, only people in our pics were those right behind her and where that door was closed. DD5 was in Cindy costume, wore the crown you can design yourself at WDW, had on the white gloves and Snow White shoes (she is her own fashion expert!).

Even with the lateness of seating and different characters being there, that dinner was one of DD5's favorite events. She really got into being a princess that night.

Thank you Princess Aurora, dd feels the same way about the "pink" she clearly feels Cinderella is more of a "pink" girl, while Aurora is definately needs to be in blue!!

Back to the OP - since your dd is 18, you wont have to worry too much, we were told, and read Aurora often appears at CRT, so we took the risk, drat, we lost, not only was Aurora not there, neither was the Fairy Godmother, and she is good at explaining when you meet up with her!! :rotfl:

Here's the picture of our Princess, dancing with the Prince

We were there in October, and it was so relaxing, esp compared to the frenzy of CRT - the characters came around 3 times and stayed as long as you could come up with conversations...
