Prince Caspian Pre-Parade Beginning April 25

yes, it's been on the disneyland entertainment calendar. i noticed it when checking my dates the other day.

Oooooh, awesome! That will be great to see when we are there for the Ladies' Only Trip. I wonder if they will bring back the White Witch for meet and greets again? I LOOOOOOVED her. She was the most excellent character interaction I have ever had!

Yeeess. I'm super excited about this! Looking at your picture, Danger, that White Witch looks a little like Ashley Tisdale.. :rotfl:

Speaking of this, I remember the disscussion that the whole reason Giselle from Enchanted wasn't included as an offical princess was because Disney would have to pay royalties to Amy Adams. How are they able to make the White Witch a walk out character without having the same problems with Tilda Swinton?

you're only owed royalties typically when you own something. there's virtually no way an actress would be paid money for a character they portrayed. giselle, in fact, was at one point the grand marshall of the now defunct stars and motor cars parade at orlando.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We saw the white queen one time at DL and I was so amazed at how cool she looked. When I saw the one at WDW I was so disappointed, especially since I was mad I never got a picture of the one at DL.

Now I have a picture!!

Just to add onto that, Giselle is still in a pre-parade at WDW, only now for the MK parade.

I wish they would keep the white witch as a regular character. I missed her on the last trip by days and it might go that way again.

As of yesterday. Giselle sill come down before the 6:30 parade. The royal poop cleaner upper follows..

Ooooh how exciting, I am really looking forward to seeing the Narnia sequel.

We saw Giselle in the parade last week too.
I loved the Royal Pooper Scooper :rotfl:

I too loved the White Witch, one of the best character interactions my daughter has ever experienced (Alice is always tops too). My daughter walked up to her and said "you are beautiful" she then knelt down, wrapped my daughter in her cloak and whispered to her for quite some time. That had a conversation about spies around Disneyland and to watch out for the fawn. She also told her it would snow in the evening and that it was for her. It was during the holidays with the soap snow.

Here is my pic:

haha that is awesome! she does look like Ashley.

I always thought the reason Giselle wasn't an official princess is because in the movie she was never made a princess...

i guess i should add i did look into this further. at least in CA, there are laws that prevent a company from profiting off someone's likeness. these laws are what george wendt and john ratzenberger sued that airport cheers bar chain over.

of course the white witch, no matter who portrays her, is different since the character was not originated in the movie.

i guess it stands to reason that you can argue any giselle merchandise is made in amy adams' image and therefore subject to those laws (at least in CA). but it also makes me wonder why disney's lawyers wouldn't already be aware of this and provide stipulations that allow them to get away with it. even so, the amount of money disney could make despite having to pay royalties seems like it wouldn't be a prohibitive factor. afterall, look at pooh.

If they didnt want Giselle in the park because of royalties, she wouldn't have been in the parade? I don't see what the difference is between having her in the parade and having her in the park? I'm sure it is more than just a royalties issue. Maybe it was something contractual?
