If so, I guess that's one ride I can't do with my very short 7 year old DD.

She is only about 45 1/2".

Is primevil Whirl really that rough of a ride? I've never been on it....

It is vicious in the way it slams people together. DH and I rode it with our two older boys, and we were terrified that we would hurt them, even with the belts on. And we/they ride RRC, the mountains, and TOT without blinking an eye.

Your 7 year old DD is not "very short".....my 7 year old DD is 45" also!!

my 7 year old is 50 inches but I am still not sure if I shoud take if on, I could do it without the spinning, I think I will have to watch it for a while when we are there before I decide.

2 more weeks to the day til we go :)

Truthfully, it's a miserable ride! My 8 year old begged and pleaded to ride it, but was too short summer of '04. We even tried the high ponytail/hat trick, they just smushed it down and turned her away. Well, in October of last year she was at the magic 48" mark and the four of us rode it. It is aweful, as a previous poster said, whips you around and slams you into the people in the middle of your car. WE have made 3 trips back since then and have not ridden it or mentioned it once.

When we were there this past January the CMs were very strict about enforcing the height rule. There was a little girl in front of us who was wearing flip flops with very thick soles and had her hair pulled straight up on top with a pony tail. They were obviously trying to fudge on her height, but the CM would have none of it. He made her take off her shoes and then pushed her hair down flat to her head to measure her. My GD looked at me in a panic and I had to remind her that she was truely over 48 inches, so was OK. That little girl's parents got really irate and said they would take responsibility for her riding, but the CMs wouldn't budge and reminded them it for her own safety.

I rode it with my son and 8 y/o GD and all three of us had bruises the next day on our legs where we were thrown around.

I just went on it with my 8 yo. I did not think it was a bad ride at all. Not too violent. I too was surprised it was a 48" min., same as Rock n roller coaster which is much more of a "big kid" ride. Someone in line told me that Primevil Whirl was purchased by disney from a carnival type company and they had a 48" restriction on it, so Disney had to keep it. It does not have the look or feel of a Disney ride in my opinion.

They are strict on the height requirement. In Jan. my very tall 5 year old was about 47 3/4" in regular tennis shoes and she could not go on it. We went to Disneyland for 1 day this summer and she was very excited to realize that she now passes the 48" mark (and so could ride something called "The Orange Stinger") -- Primeval Whirl, here we come (in 22 days)!!!

By the way, my 8 year old son who was 50" in Jan. and only weighed about 56 pounds had no trouble with the roughness of the ride, but the spinning almost made my husband throw up.

I love that ride, but it is very rough for a youngun.

I agree with the other posters, it is really a rough ride. My 7 year old is tall enough and wanted to ride, but she ended up hating it. She was tossed around so much that she banged her head on the side of the vehicle and cried the rest of the time. I would skip this one with a young child, even if they meet the height requirement.

We loved this ride, but my daughter is 13! With four adults we were still slung around. Definitely fun but maybe not for the younger ones.

Thanks for letting me know that it is a rough ride. I just wanted to know. It didn't look that bad when we were there before, so I thought we would ride it this year, but then read that it was 48"! Good thing I found out now, and not when we got there, DD would have been in tears!

I sure hope that Space Moutain isn't 48", she wants to go on that one!

My 7 year old niece was 45" when we were there in June. The only two rides she couldn't ride were Primevil Whirl and Rock'n Rollercoaster. Everything else (except some of the slides at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon) is 44" or shorter.

Oooh, I have no problem with the spinning, but I do have problems with the sudden stops during the spins as the car "locks" into place. Ouch.

I appreciated the pillow top mattresses on the king size bed at Saratoga Springs that night.

The ride left me with a bruise on my leg in the shape of a Hidden Mickey! It lingered for a couple of weeks after returning home. I thought it was a cool souvenEAR!

My five year old son loved this ride! In March, we rode this three times, before the motion sickness kicked in (for me). The first two rides didn't really bother me, but the third time, we much have gotten a looser car. We went round and round and round.

Its a fairly boring ride as far as mouse coasters go. The spinning only occurs almost after the ride is over.

One nickname I have seen is: "Primevil Hurl", if that gives you an idea of it's roughness.
