Primevil Hurl?

The problem with this ride isn't the motion sickness factor - it is plain old injury. You get jerked around pretty good when it spins. It took all my strength to stay put. My son (11) couldn't hold himself, and banged his head pretty bad. Don't count on being able to hold onto your child if you have little ones - you can't hold onto then AND keep yourself (and them) from sliding around.

Just a note - we love teacups, SM, TT, MS, BTMRR, etc. This ride is just too rough.

Our family (I'm 42, DH is 43, DD is 14) LOVES this ride. It IS jerky, but it's one of our favorites. I have never laughed so much in my life. I think the inside seats are less jerky than the outside ones by just a little. The spinning doesn't bother me at all, but you do get bounced around and I have gotten bruised once or twice, but we still rode it 5 times last trip!

Obviously, there are lots of varying opinions on this one!

We skipped this in January because it was raining. The ride was running, but I didn't want to get any wetter than we already were. Overall our AK day wasn't all that great!

DS9 wants to ride on our next trip. For those folks who have been on with a child, do you put the child in the middle? DS is small for his age and I would think if he was on the end both DH and I would slide into him. Thoughts?

Don't worry, it's not as intense as it looks. It's actually a lot of fun!

This one is one of two attractions I find hard to do at WDW!!! ToT is the other one. I love the teacups, tilt-a-whirls. Love Space Mt. But, Primeval Whirl does me in every single time. It has to be the combination of spinning just as I start to go over an edge. If I close my eyes I'm fine. But, when you add that to the banging around, I just pass by on this one. However, dd and dh love it.

Hurl factor is low, but Jerky factor is off the scale. Im afraid of heights so I was just a giant tence muscle on the ride. I was so sore afterwards, Rough rough rough. The ride doesnt "free spin", isntead it is to STOP spinning at certain points, and thats where the jerkyness comes from.. spinning and *WHAM* you stop. They should put super padded seats in the ride.

Yes, Whirl does seem to jerk you around and make you seem like you're about to fall off the coaster tracks and keeps spinning you around!

But if a coaster wimp like me can take it...thats saying something

I'm not the biggest rollercoaster fan, but I love Primeval Whirl. I don't have the best back, either, and I don't remember it hurting mine, like some people say it has theirs.

I have been known to get motion sickness from riding in the car to long, but Primeval Whirl did not bother me. I do however have arthritis in my hips, and the jerkiness aggravated it some (probably from trying to hold myself steady) - I had to sit down a few minutes after I got off to rest my back.

It doesn't spin that much to make you puke. You only spin mostly at corners and the drops aren't that bad either. You do need to hold on to the bar in front of you or you will probably be close to sitting on the lap on the person next to you.

My wife and I were in line this morning, and we noticed that the CMs were cleaning out a "protein spill". We didn't see the person who got off of it, but obviously they did not have a good experience, neither did the other riders in the car.
They didn't let anyone into the car for that trip, but I am sure someone got to ride in the lucky car. Yuck.

I am a larger man and I had to sit in a seat by myself. There is a hard piece of plastic that sicks out of the back of the seat that is a divider of sorts for if two people sit on one side. This hard piece of plastic spent most of the ride lodged into my back. I will not be riding this again!!!

This ride does not sound fun at all....hmm.... :confused3
