I have some Bare Minerals primer that came in one of the kits. I've been using milk of magnesia for a primer in the summer months, works great, my face doesn't get oily at all during the day. It's amazing. You just have to use a light coat to make sure you don't leave white marks. So I assumed the Bareminerals one would be even better. It goes on nice, and makes a smooth base for your makeup. But it doesn't control shine at all. My face looked like I hadn't used a primer at all after a few hours.

Just my 2 cents on a way to save some bucks!

Wow, thans for the tip. I have never heard of MOM for primer. I have heard of a few other things that I plan on trying,so I am adding this to the list.

Another good suggestion for make-up primer was one that I saw on this forum - Monistat Chafing Relief Gel. I was skeptical but tried it - it works and at $5 a tube, very affordable!

I love BareMinerals, but I can't use their primer--or any of the others I've tried. They make me itch and break out--and I usually don't have many issues with my skin!

I may try the MoM idea. Thanks! :)

This stuff is great and the same stuff they use in the $30+ tubes at the dept stores

I SO agree about the Monistat! The best part is every so often you find a $3.00 coupon in the box- which makes the cost even lower!

Great stuff...
