Prime Time - still fun?

Haven't been to the Prime Time since maybe 2014. Do they still do things like keep your elbows off the table, etc? Is it still a fun place?

Sort of? Our server gave us an initial speech about all that...but that was pretty much it. The food was subpar and the milkshakes that I LOVED as a kid were, to put it mildly, awful. Even my kids didn't like it. Maybe we just got it on a bad day with a less than interactive server?

The milkshakes were so thick you couldn't drink them, even when left for the entire meal to see if they'd thin out. Eating them with a spoon was like eating the cheapest ice cream ever. Kind of that stale taste. The people working there were nice and it was one of the places I was looking forward to since I had fond memories of it that I wanted to reproduce for my kids but...it's firmly off our list forever.

But again we might just have been really unlucky!

I think some servers are better than others at that kind of interaction, which is really sort of improvisational acting. We’ve had a lot of fun, and we’ve had just plain and simple restaurant service. We do like the food, though!

I've ate there 4 times over 6 years. Always got the same experience. Decent food, above Disney-average service and a generally positive experience.

My last experience was the waitress reading the crowd. She was more of a ham with some tables and a little more subdued with others.

I was also very happy with the last experience because my first couple of experiences at restaurants on the trip felt ridiculously rushed. One was like 20 minutes. It was horrible. This was a very nicely paced meal where I could actually sit down and enjoy my meal and the rest.

Our last time there was about 4 years ago. So disappointed. I think it really depends on your server. Ours was a dud at our table and their others around us.
They were a server, period, nothing more. Other tables around us with different servers, were full on in character.
The food was good, loved the atmosphere.
we have had similar experiences at Skippers. Some have been really fun and amazing, others, just servers.

We were just there last week and were really disappointed with not only the food, but the server, as well. Our pot roast was super fatty, I literally had to put more than half of it on the side of my plate. But worse, our server kind of gave us the initial spiel but then nothing else. I had brought my mom and son and warned them about the antics, thinking they would think it was funny. Our server never even came back to check on us after our food was delivered and when we went to pay our bill, she gave me a hard time about showing her my discounts on my Apple Watch...made a big deal of making me open my phone and giving me a tutorial on how to see my discounts in the app. It was very strange and borderline rude. We won't be back.

We were there in 2016 and had a great time and just returned again last month and won’t be back.

Our server was very blah and the food equally bland. We could have gotten a better tasting meal and KFC and probably a happier employee there as well.

It really depends on who you get as your server. We've had a lot of good ones and occasionally the boring one. I think a lot of it has to do with uptight guests who don't know what they're booking and have complained to/about servers and they began toning it down unfortunately. Check some of the reviews on google from the clueless lol

Ate there a few months ago and wasn't all that impressed. The food was just okay, but the service was lackluster. Our server didn't really get into it and she kind of ignored our table. It definitely wasn't as fun as it had been in the past.

I agree with most. We ate back in august and weren't impressed. It used to be a favorite of ours. And the milkshakes were basically ice cream in a metal cup. Id much rather eat at sci-fi if possible.

We have a dinner there every trip and absolutely love it! We always get some antics some servers do more than others. We have always had good food. We were last there in November 2021.

We have some really great memories from years ago on several different trips. I think that we skip here this next trip to keep our memories fresh. Time to try a place we have never eaten at before! I wish the new Toy Story place was open in January. Oh well...a good reason to plan another trip!

A decade ago, we loved this restaurant. Our last few times have been subpar food and horrible service with very little antics. It has been taken off of our list of places to eat.
I hope it gets better in the future.

We last ate there in August and had a great experience. From reading other comments, I think it's highly dependent on your server. Our waitress was excellent - she was funny definitely up to the usual antics. She also seemed very good at reading her tables as we could see she pushed the boundaries more with some tables than others. Our food was also very good (I had the Caesar salad and my DH had the chicken pot pie) and no complaints about our milkshake.

Agreed, definitely dependent on your server. It's a must do for us every trip and we've never had a bad experience, just differing levels of "antics" and frankly it doesn't bother me not to have them sometimes. I couldn't have put my finger on it until reading this thread but I really do think part of why we've always liked it is I can never remember ever feeling rushed....it's a nice relaxation break in our DHS days with pretty good food.

We have been a few times in the past and it was just okay. We decided to try it again and really enjoyed it. The server definitely makes a big difference. We are quiet people and usually don't like the whole elbows off the table stuff but Cousin Eric was great. He had us laughing and I felt comfortable with him calling us out on stuff. I had the pot roast which in the past I had a super fatty piece but this time it was really good. The carrots were a little undercooked though. My husband liked his fried chicken and the chocolate cake a la mode for dessert was yummy.
