Prime Time 50's Cafe

We're thinking of trying the Prime Time 50's Cafe next trip.

Any input would be appreciated.

We have eaten there several times and have really enjoyed it. The last time we ate there was 2 years ago and the kids loved the fact that the waitress gave us all fun nicknames. Food was really good too--the shakes were yummy and included in the dining plan. We are planning to go back this year again. I would definitely recommend the restaurant

Great! Thanks for the info! We've been to Sci-fi a few times but I wanted to try something different and this looked interesting.

We always get the pot roast at Liberty Tree so this sounds like a plan!

We tried this restaurant for the first time last summer and we all really enjoyed it! DH and DS#1 both got the meatloaf - and totally cleaned their plates, DS#2 got a kids chicken finger meal and I had the chicken pot pie! It was yummy! I also got the brownie sundae (which was a little overkill as I was stuffed) and it was so yummy! DS's both have requested this restaurant next time we go ....

Love it!! We ate there during our trips in 05 and 07...AND we have an ADR there for our trip next month. The food is great and the experience is just awesome!

We have twin 11 yo dd's and they always request that we go to 50's Prime Time! It's great comfort food! Pot roast is really yummy....not a big pot roast lover but theirs is really good!

We ate there in January and the food was fine - especially the Smores dessert - yum!!! Just as a heads up - we checked in and the place was really crowded. Our family of 6 waited by the TV area. We checked in 15 minutes early, as instructed and waited and waited. Finally, 20-25 minutes past our ressie time, my dh went to ask where we were on the list. The person checked her list and said "Oh, the xxxx party is already seated" Um, yeah, no we really weren't. There is no way we could have missed them calling our names unless they did it very close to the front desk and didn't advance any further. While we were waiting for the next available table, another family came up and the exact same thing happened to them! Clearly they need to work on their name announcing, but in the mean time, stay close to the front!

We really like 50's PT, the pot roast is delicious and I love the smores desert! Our kids have a lot of fun there!

My only advice is try not to go during peek dining times, because I had the same problem as a previous poster. It was REALLY busy and I saw another group throwing a fit about something and it just takes the magic out of it. Once we were seated, the food was great, and the atmosphere was awesome, but Uncle Dave (our waiter) was sweating and was just slammed. He didn't joke with us nearly like previous servers had and it wasn't his fault. I think the management over that restaurant just needs to do some major adjustments on how their seating is handled.

My advice would be to request a server that is "in character" when checking in. I read that once a while back here on the DIS and regretted not taking that advice. My parents were with us and my Dad was soooo looking forward to the antics and we got zip zero none!! Not even a glimpse at someone else's table, because our server had the tables surrounding us. I felt really bad for my Dad, since this was probably his last trip (not in good health) and really really wish I had requested it.

We keep going back and start with a martini at the bar. Then pot roast and I love the strawberries for dessert.

Go in with a good attitude and know that it is fun place with a theme. I have read that some don't like the fun, for us, we love it.

We eat there every time we go. We love the theme! The food is also great. It makes me want fried chicken just thinking about it!!!
