Prime rib?????

I'm planning a surprise anniversary trip to WDW for my DH (the trip, not the anniversary, is the surprise).

I would like to take him out for great dinner--prime rib is his absolute fave.

I plan on taking him out on our day of arrival, so we won't be going to a park. Any suggestions for which resort (or other non park restaurants) have good prime rib? This will be OOP, not DDP.

They serve a ginormous slab of prime rib at Shula's. If your DH can fast for a day or so prior to the dinner, he might be able to finish it.

Try Boatwrights at Port Orleans. The best Prime rib that we have ever had at WDW. Our family makes a special trip just to order the prime rib! We dont even have to look at the menu anymore.
Yes, we are ready to order.........can we have 5 prime rib dinners please !!!!
Since you are paying oop, you will be pleased to know that Boatwrights is not, over the top expensive like most of ther other "specialized" steak hoses at WDW. Its a very reasonable, but very good prime rib !! Try it, you will like it.

I agree Shula's. Just got back from WDW and yes they have dumbed down the menus'. We paid OOP and if u took 200. or 2000. dollars for food mostly it was just fair. The best food IMO is at the resorts with few exceptions. Disney plz upgrade the food.

Just had a service industry person tell me that Black Angus Steakhouse on I Drive had melt in your mouth prime rib, for a ridiculously low price. He and his Mom dined there (and yes, they had a drink too) for about $60!

Another vote for Boatwright's. gooooood prime rib and one of our little secret spots that we know we can always get a meal at.

Turf Club at Saratoga Springs Resort also has prime rib. DH had it on a recent trip and said it was good.

Thanks for all the great suggestions--my mouth is watering already.

We are staying at YC, so I may try Shula's. I don't mind splurging since its for our anniversry, but Boatwright's does sound tempting.

I do agree menus have gone really down hill. We don't do DDP anymore, b/c w/ changes in plan and the menus, we'd rather do CS when in the parks--plus when you have ADRs it becomes all about being at a certain place at a certain time. We'd rather go with the flow.

I am a 130 lb woman and I made short work of the 32 oz prime rib at Shulas last time I was there. The lady at the table next to me was impressed lol. My wussy fiance just had the wussy 24 oz steak.

It was the best , biggest prime rib I ever had.

I think Boatwrights prime rib is tough to beat for the price !!! But I am willing to try Shulas if its that much better. Love prime rib !!!

Never been to Shulas, but the Prime Rib at the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs Resort is great - the best I have had anywhere - and 1/3 the price. With the money you save from the dinner, you could do a his/her spa thing (reservations needed). If not into the spa, walk outside the restaurant and catch a relaxing boat ride to DTD.
