I have been looking at airfares between Chicago and Honolulu. On United's web site I can price economy vs business vs first class

How do I determine the price of economy plus?

If they have it as an option, it will show up. If it's not for that flight, it won't be there.

When I price it out on their site I see economy price seating selection on the chart but there is no price info

Also is it worth it?

We always fly United. It's really our only choice where we live. Anyway....when choosing your flight on United.com (even if you initially choose economy/coach), you will get to the seat selection part. It's usually color coded and when moving the mouse around will specific coach or economy plus and when mouse over economy plus, it will show you the cost extra PER SEAT. If you don't choose economy plus during your seat selection, it always asks you before you finalize if you want to upgrade at "x" amount. The cost is dependent on what you're comfortable paying. My husband is tall and he feels cramped in coach but sometimes the cost of upgrading to economy plus is too high (for us). Once, and only once did this happen to us, our flight times got changed and there was a voicemail to call United. When I did, they gave me our new flight times and then offered to upgrade to economy plus which was very reasonable. Sometimes it can run $50 plus per seat to upgrade and they offered $80 for the three of us. I couldn't believe it. I think that doesn't happen very often though.

E+ is totally worth it for a long flight.

Find the flight you want and do a booking under your name or do a dummy booking. You won't have to give any payment info. Select seats and click on any E+ seat. This will show the price. For flights to Honolulu from Chicago (I checked dates in January), seats are running from $113-136 each way, depending on seat location.

Getting free E+ seats at booking is one of the best perks of being a United 1K.

We did it. I was glad it was $50 each for seat chicago to Honolulo. On the way back it was from CA to chicago that leg was $86. It was worth it. DH is only 5 10" me 5 4" kids smaller. We added it at the last minute. By the way first class would of been $20,000 for the four of us all the flight, EEK.
