My family will be hitting the world week of May 7-13 2012- No holiday
I have made ADRs for Crystal Palace- we went last year and loved it- but I'm a bit concerned.
What will the price be per person? If I am seeing this correctly it has jumped significantly since we were there this past May of 2011.
We will be going OOP to do this and DS will be just shy of turning 4.
I need to weigh if it's worth it or not.
Thanks for your help!

Breakfast or dinner? To be honest, character dinner buffets are not worth it. They are expensive, character interaction is usually rushed, the food is pretty awful, IMO. Actually the only dinner buffets that I still feel are somewhat worth the price OOP are Boma, Cape May and Biergarten. This doesn't include the high cost for a child OOP, especially for the amount of food he will probably eat.

If you are taking about a breakfast ADR, there is still a little value in paying for those OOP. My fiance and I did CP for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. I think for the 2 of us, after tax and tip, the total came to a little over $60. While $60 is by no means cheap, to get into MK pre-RD, to not be as rushed with the characters (the restaurant was half empty) and the decent breakfast spread, I could justify the cost OOP a bit more.

sorry- I was questioning breakfast -
I loved Crystal Palace when we went this past May-I loved being in the park early. I really enjoyed their food- but I believe that it was less expensive and I did not have to pay for DS at the time.
For this upcoming trip, could it be that I will have to pay around $93 for DH, myself, and DS, who is 3, to eat breakfast?
I don't know that I can justify that cost.
So, can anybody tell me the per person price for Crystal Palace breakfast non-holiday?

For Adults it is 22.99 and for children it is 10.99. That was the price I paid back in September 2011. But I guess next May it will be one or two dollars more.

I just booked the CP breakfast for Wed. May 9 before park opening. :goodvibes I wanted to be able to get into the parks early and not be rushed by the crowds. We are also paying OOP, but our son will only be 2. We decided it was worth it so that he could meet some characters without waiting in line. It'll also give us a chance to see if he likes the characters, or if he's terrified without waiting in long character lines.

Where do you "see" that price? You can call 1-407-WDW-DINE and they will give you prices. (Although they frequently give wrong prices for some reason.
I called for May prices on a bunch of buffets. Apparently their system kept automatically defaulting to Christmas prices on a couple of them, as 2 CM had that happen. When I questioned it, they then said, no that was Christmas pricing, and put in the May date again.) That is why I checked with 2, because some of the prices seem odd, like Akershus lunch LESS than Akershus breakfast.
But this is what they quoted.

Anyway, what they told me for May 13-22, 2012 pricing:
1900 Park Fare--B$22.36, D$38.33
Akershus--B$38.33, L$37.27, D$42.59
Biergarten--L$23.42, D$35.14
Boma--B$20.23, D$35.14
Cape May--B$26.62, D$38.23
Crystal Palace--B$24.55, L$26.62, D$39.40
Garden Grill--D$37.27
'Ohana--B$22.36, D$35.14
Tusker House--B$26.62, L$27.68, D$37.27
Liberty Tree Tavern--D$34.07

Just be aware that AllEars is not consistent whether or not their prices include tax (prices that don't end in .99 include 6.5% tax) and possible holiday pricing.

And don't be confused by the Disney sites that only give a wide range of prices that don't tell you what the actual price is.

Thanks so much for all the replies.
This is making me feel a lot better!
I think we are indeed on for Crystal Palace in May! Yay!

Oh and - sray563 - we will see you all there.
Wednesday morning May 9th is when we are planning on going too!
:)

The prices are always a surprise to me. :confused3 I think the buffet prices may change daily.

We expected to pay $39.99 @ BOMA in October and where pleasantly surprised @ the $32.99 per person charge when we received our bill.
